Asian Garden — Restaurant in Saskatoon

2 stars, because the food here is always amazing.

However, the experience I had last night with their FOH staff and delivery driver last night was abysmal, and despite being a long time customer, I don't know if I'll ever go back.

Long story short, we ordered from this business on Skip the Dishes. Once our order status was out for delivery, we dedicated ourselves to watching the front door. Additionally, we started opening the door and checking for our food to make sure we didn't miss anyone. After 30 minutes of being "out for delivery" (and drivers take other orders too, we understand that delivering can take time), I called the restaurant to see if it was still on its way.

Initially, the woman who answered the phone was helpful and went to investigate the situation for us. When she called us back the situation got ugly.

We were told that the food had been delivered. She asked us to check our door. She accused us of not looking for it. She said that someone must have taken it. She asked me to check the door again, while I was on the phone with her, even though I told her that I was staring at the empty door step. The driver insisted that it was delivered and to the right address.

Eventually, they agreed to resend the order (without confirming the address or delivery details, which spurred us to checking the neighbours' doorsteps—just in case). We asked them to ensure the driver rings the doorbell this time and got attitude about how "they did that last time." (At this point we even test rang the doorbell to make sure it was working—spoiler alert—it was).

About 45 minutes later our order arrived. The driver did ring the doorbell and then gave my friend who answered the door a ton of attitude. Claimed that this "just like I did it last time", and so forth.

I do not appreciate that my group was accused of lying and I do not appreciate the attitude that we received throughout this situation. We ordered our food around 4:20pm, and 2 of us were finally able to eat at 6:30—the third member of our party made a peanut butter sandwich and had to leave for another obligation before the food arrived.

TL;DR, the food here is amazing, but the staff are terrible and you will have to deal with a ton of attitude if something is wrong with your order. If you're using Skip the Dishes, make sure you're ordering from a place with a Skip managed driver. Oh, and Asian Garden—it's called "contactless delivery" not "interactionless delivery". It's probably a good idea to have your driver wait for 30s and make sure that their delivery is completed...

My friend loves the deep fried taro dumpling filled with pork. The outside crust and taro was hot but the inside pork was cold/cool. Thankful to have them heat them up for us because rather have pork the whole of it hot🙂 It has a Wide variety of dim sum :) you can order anything you like on the tablet after you arrive there. My friend said it’s Really nice hot Milk tea (for me it’s quite sweet:) so you can take caution if you are not a big fan of sweet drinks) but the taste reminds the friend’s memory of the trip to Hong Kong. We tried to have Beef cilantro Rice roll but all the rice roll are not available after lunch time so we haven’t had any of them yet though we love to The seats are comfortable and we can see the sun and the I love the window seats. Thanks for the hot tea. First we were served iced water but in winter or cold days I think hot tea is pretty nice. Also, with dim sum I love the match of tea with eating it. We also have the congee. It’s good taste! The service is good and we are glad to have our first visit there. There are lots of Statues like those you found in Qian dynasty. I tried to get to know the reason they like to put them in the restaurant but I haven’t got the answer yet😅 You can see a small one at the entrance downstairs but when you go upstairs to have your seats you can see more bigger and taller...

This place used to be alright, it's since gone way downhill. Especially in the staffing department. From waitress' pretending they don't see you so they can play on their phones, to not even being able to call an order in as they don't understand you, and when you ask them to repeat what you ordered, it's totally off! Also, good luck getting your whole order, many times now, complete items were just missing all together. I kept giving them chance after chance, as it's very close to where I live, but finally the straw that broke the camels back was when I paid for my pickup order of $49.04, and she couldn't even give me a dollar back, but instead a pocket full of change. I asked, like really, you can't just make it $49 even, and she went into a big thing about the law, etc... I finally just said you know what forget it, if you want to loose my future business over 4 cents, so be it. I will be letting everyone I know as well to avoid this place.

Oh... I almost forgot, I passed two servers in their staircase and they mumbled some negative stuff at me. Like what for, so sorry for going into your place and spending money, lol... won't...
