Boston Pizza — Restaurant in Saskatoon

My wife and our adult son just went for dinner at this location. My wife asked for a pitcher of Sangria. It is a menu item on the drink list. The bartender said sure thing. We go here about once a month. What happened next was the most appalling thing I have ever seen. The same bartender for whatever reason after a few minutes yelled across the bar that absolutely he cannot do that, to her. Very embarrassing. Has to be for a group. He said I can only serve one drink at a time. I Asked for the manager to be brought in. Rafee the manager shows up and proceeds to tell us that one person cannot drink a pitcher of sangrias. We were going to share the pitcher. So I asked him why the bartender had to yell across the bar at us. He apologized for that and then tried to explain the reasoning that one person cannot order a pitcher. I asked him to help me understand as there is no disclaimer saying it must be ordered for a group on the menu. It equates to 3 drinks. Yet as we sat there and waited for our food. We saw at least 4 tables being served 3 seperate drinks. I asked Rafee why that was allowed? He said we have a two drink service minimum. What a joke! I know Serve it right rules. The hockey game was just starting. I am sure if I stuck around I could count 5-10 drinks being served to some. Hell I have had 4 beers in this establishment before and no issue. That bartender was rude and the situation unfortunate to say the least. We have interacted with him before and always pleasant. Not excusing his behaviour. That was unacceptable. Won’t return. ● SERVICE Service was great and our server was very kind, our server was the best thing about this place! 🥳

● CLEANLINESS Towards the end of the meal we were brought a cup with a lipstick mark on it. I thought it might just be a stain on the cup so I tried to smudge it with my finger and sure enough it was NOT a stain and the lipstick smudged. Our other dishes were fairly clean so this was a surprise. 😖

● FOOD The majority of our food was good and had a little spice to it (according to a white person) and food was delivered far more quickly than any Boston Pizza I've been to before. However the steak was more of a miss for us. It was cooked through well but the bottom of the steak was chard. It wasn't a huge deal as the rest of the steak was good but it's something to keep in mind if you want to order the steak. 🥩

● ATMOSPHERE The atmosphere was nice, I could definitely envision a big group coming here to watch a sports game. The ceiling fan rotating infront of the ceiling light might be a problem for photo sensitive people as it causes a flashing lights effects so be careful if this is something your concerned.

This is my first google review but I felt strongly enough about what happened today to post one.

I have Asperger's, so consistency is important and necessary to me. I've been a faithful BP customer (in every city we live in or visit) for over 30 years, I suffered when my regular Thai Chicken Pizza was discontinued but I found an alternate and continued to come.

This restaurant is in our neighborhood, and we visit or take out often. Today the product was slightly different and I asked the server about it. She argued with me, but finally said she would ask the kitchen. A short blonde manager came and aggressively asked what my issue was. I explained that the crust was thinner and tasted slightly uncooked and asked if they had perhaps made it a thin crust. I was not asking for the food to be replaced or comped , I was not asking them take the food I was asking a question in case something had changed. The manger made zero effort to understand my question she slapped her hands against her thighs, HUFFED AT ME and stormed off!

We have had poor quality food and shoddy service occasionally at different BP restaurants across the county, but this was beyond poor service. It was rude, insulting and upsetting.

I guarantee you that this is the last time we will eat at any...
