Chatime — Restaurant in Saskatoon

This place is usually pretty up to par, they’re understandably out of certain toppings or flavours sometimes when I come here, but I usually come in evening hours anyways so that bit I get. However, I came here for my birthday today, and I wasn’t able to get the name of this worker, it was only one working there, it was a male person of colour. I have also been told that there should usually be two workers there at all times by another worker a couple weeks ago, anyways, I ordered a banana milk tea with no toppings and less ice, along with a strawberry milk tea with tapioca pearls and less ice, the banana milk tea was fine, on the other hand, the strawberry milk tea arrived warm with no ice and it was not mixed properly. It also took him about 15 minutes to make two drinks, there were no other customers while we were waiting for our drinks. I’m honestly disappointed because I usually come to this location when I want to treat myself to Chatime. Do with this information...

I ordered online through the website for the monthly special pomelo drink. I was notified that my drink was ready 15 min later so I head to chatime. I go in and say I had an online order for pickup – they tell me there’s no order for me. I had to tell them again that I made the order online. They finally found my order and say they will start making it now and it will be ready in a bit. I wait another 5 minutes for my drink that should have already been ready, and then they tell me that they’re out of the pomelo drink. She tells me to cancel it online (I can’t, it was supposed to be ready, so I didn’t have the option to cancel), so she tells me to order something else and I can pay the difference. No thanks. She was able to put the amount as a credit onto my account but a refund would have been better. I’m not sure what’s going on with the system but it defeats the purpose when it’s not attended to. Came here in hopes to get a bubble tea fix…. Came out with grey hair because it took so long. 30 minute wait for only 3 drinks. Not only that, the drinks were extremely tasteless/watered down and nothing like they were before. Sugar and ice levels should not matter nor should it not deter the taste of a drink. Adjustments should be made to ensure the taste quality remains the same

Worker was kind and respectful, but their skills could be improved. Now, could it have been that they were new? Possibly. But if that was the case, there should be no excuse for a new worker to be working alone on a SATURDAY AFTERNOON. Rather, for a bubble tea establishment to only have one worker on a weekend day.

I urge the new management and owners that took over to do better so that everyone is happy because it seemed like the worker could appreciate another helper.

Unless changes are made, I would not recommend...
