Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Saskatoon

I went to the DQ on Idylwyld & 33rd St W in Saskatoon today October 13th 2025 6:40 PM and ordered a Triple Chocolate Brownie, which is supposed to be a warm brownie with ice cream, not cold. I was served a cold brownie, so I went back and mentioned it should be warm. The employee on shift told me that DQ’s “guidelines have changed” and that brownies are now served cold unless the customer specifically asks for them to be heated.

Honestly, how is a customer supposed to know that? I don’t work at DQ — it should be part of the staff’s job to ask whether we’d like it warmed up. I politely asked for a new one since I had already paid for it, but the response felt dismissive and unprofessional.

When they did heat it up, it melted all the ice cream and completely ruined the dessert. I even checked online afterward, and it clearly says that the Triple Chocolate Brownie is served warm. The whole experience was disappointing and not what you expect from a brand like DQ.

After reading other 1-star reviews mentioning poor customer service, it’s clear this isn’t an isolated issue. The staff here don’t seem to take responsibility for their mistakes and expect customers to pay again for something that wasn’t their fault. I won’t be returning to this location and will definitely share my experience with friends and family.

I’ve also attached a screenshot from Google showing that the brownie should be served warm — it’s part of the standard process. This is like ordering a cheeseburger and being told, “Oh, the guidelines changed — now you have to ask if you want the patty heated.” Completely...

Went through the drive through with my 3 other friends at about 10:15pm. Upon getting to the window, we paid and started waiting for our order when 3 different workers came and started glaring at us trying not to be seen by. One worker than came up to the window and proceeded to yell at us for supposedly continuously phoning them when in fact we were just patiently waiting to get our order. I told them that no one in the car was phoning DQ and that we were just waiting for our food, but all I received was an eye roll and them closing the window on me. Us in the car were all very confused as we didn't know what just happened. We received our order (with very rude customer service, didn't tell us what was what) and then a different worker than also came to yell at us for phoning. We (again) told them we were't trying to phone them and she closed the window on us. Me and my friend then went inside to ask for the manager, was met with more rudeness and more accusations about phoning them when we were not even phoning them in the first place. We received no apology and were not listened to as we tried to explain that we weren't trying to phone them. We asked for any kind of contact information for the manager and all that was given was the phone number to the store, we didn't even receive the manager's name. Unfortunately I had i not to good experience at this DQ first off its took me over 10 minutes of standing waiting g to order and as I'm standing there im see the girl making a blizzard then drops the steel cup and after picking it up continues to use it..if I had my phn at the time I would of recorded it..looking around tables not just one or two though many tables where dirty with sauce still on the tables the kid seats are filthy still had dried ketchup on it as there right where you have to order your food .portions are way off ..a mediumfries cost 20 cents less then onion rings and if you decideto have rings instead of fries thy charge you an extra 1.70 on top your meal now mediumfries is 20 cents cheaper the rings if I ordered them separately not 1.70. More 20 cents more not to mentionthe rings tasted like they where cooked unfrozen had to toss em...now finally ordered and paid took another 15 minutes of me standing there waiting on my food literally took over 20 minutes to get my food two burgers fries and onion rings both meals look terrible shown in pictures attached ..never going to step food in this DQ and not ever going to recommend this...
