Gibson's Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Saskatoon

Went there last night, and I have to be honest... I'm a little worried. Not due to the food, its exactly what I remember of Gibsons. The fish and chips can't be beat, especially for the price. What really bothered me was the service I noticed. When I went in there I was sat down quickly, but it took almost 10 minutes before a server acknowledged that we were there and brought us water, let alone took our order. We had to go up and ask for service.

Normally when this happens I'm not too impressed, but I figure maybe its an off night and it was a one time thing. No big deal, the food is great. But then another couple gets sat down across from my table. They end up waiting for nearly 10 minutes too, and I have to listen to comments such as, "I wonder if they forgot about us?" as they wonder if they are going to have a server.

I really like Gibsons. Its been a staple of the city for almost 6 decades. Please make sure service doesn't go downhill, as that can tarnish the reputation. Servers should be aware of who gets sat down, and if a table hasn't been served yet. Gibsons is great and should...

Went to Gibson's tonight called for a table for there no place to park no handicap spot for seniors to park who have trouble walking got in seated right away it was busy so we expected to wait a little but waited almost an hour and we still had not gotten our order we had all finished our drinks and still nothing four other couples came in after us and all got there orders before us and had finished eating and were leaving. Waitress said it was because they were busy when asked y other tables got served before us she said it's busy. Waitress said they would do something for our trouble and the long wait so we left to pay for our drinks were charged full price. As we were leaving waitresses and other customers started laughing and saying our meal was good and nothing they could do about it. Called the manager to let her no of poor service to get even worse customer service from her. Will not be going back and would not recommend going there if u want to...

Hi Leanne !!! I stopped bu Thursday Feb 22 afternoon around 4 to pick up orders for my Wife and I. Always such a pleasure to see and talk to you. Your Fish and chips were absotolutely delicious like always. In this fast changing World we live in Gibsons Fish and Chips has stayed true to its couse. Been having it for at least the last 40 years. I loved your small resteraunt in the Cumberland Shopping Centre. Your new place is very nice as well. We haven't had the pleasure of dining inside. Being from out of town (Marshall, Sask) we usually just get takeout. And the awesome Fish and Chips comes wrapped in news paper. Same as it always did !!! Lol.
