I've been to Meltwich twice now. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and my food came out quickly even when the store seemed somewhat busy. The food is okay - I mean, it's deep fried and/or full of cheese, it's going to taste good. My issue is that I was served real chicken instead of the plant-based "chick'n." I ordered a chick'n sandwich using air quotes and then pointing at the plant based menu, maybe it's my fault for not checking carefully enough but I didn't realize there was a sandwich with real meat and the exact same name. I realized after the first bite that my sandwich definitely had real chicken on it (no, it's not just really good fake meat). Ordered the Korean BBQ Poutine and was very disappointed. As a regular poutine it was likely fine, but as I requested no mushrooms/onions/coleslaw/sriracha, it felt like I was overcharged (I had initially asked for a regular poutine with the meat/bbq sauce as an addon). The “meat” added was two tiny little strips of meat, and the BBQ sauce wasn’t on the poutine. Ultimately, the poutine itself wasn’t any more amazing than other places I’ve eaten, and the lack of meat as one of the toppings (I did expect there to be less toppings as I requested certain things removed, but I did still expect there would be a decent amount of meat; there wasn’t). Very bad experience with the food.. I ordered philli cheese Burger. I wasn't told that there will be lots of mushrooms and onions in it. i am alergic to mushrooms. Very bad customer service. I placed ordered first but other customer got their order before me. Meat was very smelly in the burger nor cooked properly. I was thinking something is wrong with the Burger. I just took a bite and throw the burger away. I spend $30 for 2 Burgers, 2 fries and 1 pop. My whole money got wasted in this Store.
