My wife and I went to Moxies tonight for a date night. It's the first time we've been able to go out in months as we have 4 children and it's very hard to get a free night between activities, work and trying to find a sitter. Its also the last time she can go out as she's having surgery next week and will be unable to go out for months. We were excited to go but we were very disappointed in the quality of food we received. Our appetizer was lettuce chicken wraps. The lettuce was rubbery and the chicken tough, almost like it had been cooked hours before and just warmed up. My wife's meal was the mango chicken which was very good, yet I ordered the chicken Alfredo and it was not good. The pasta was cold (yes cold, like it had been sitting out for a long time), and the noodles were stuck together in clumps. I informed the waitress and she apologized and asked if I'd like another. I said no thanks I'd like the crispy chicken sandwich instead. She came back a few minutes later and said they're very sorry about the meal and they're removing it from my bill and taking care of the chicken sandwich as well. She said they're working on the sandwich as fast as they can. I said thank you and it doesn't need to be fast as long as it's cooked well. Well, it wasnt. A few minutes later it came out and was just as disappointing. It was so over deep fried that the chicken was hard and black on the edges and tasted burnt. I honestly didn't want to wait any longer so I just ate it because I hadn't eaten all day. She asked when I was finished how it was and I said "Honestly not good but I was so hungry I just ate it". There was no flavor besides Chipotle sauce and burnt deep fry. Also of note, I ordered an iced tea and had drank it before I received the appetizer, yet didn't receive any refills for my entire meal. My wife ordered a MGD and the waitress said "all we have is Miller Lite" (which is shown on the menu and MGD is not) " Ill go check to see if we have any". My wife said ok if not I guess I'll have a Miller Lite. The waitress then comes back with an MGD and says "sorry all we have is Miller lite". My wife says "that's a MGD as stated on the bottle". The waitress said "oh I don't know anything about beers." Lol When we got the bill the sandwich that the waitress said was "taken care of" was on the bill. I asked her and she didn't really have any answer besides "well we took care of the pasta". I said "well obviously i didnt expect to pay for a pasta that was cold and that i didnt eat." I didn't want to make the night any worse so whatever we paid and left. Very disappointing and my wife told me we will...
Read moreMaybe it was an off night.. my previous experiences here have always been great, however this past evening was extremely disappointing. I brought my girlfriend here for her birthday meal. We ordered drinks and an appetizer (the smash guacamole with chips). The appetizer arrived quick, but The drinks showed up about ten minutes after we had finished eating our appetizer, or should I say the chips from our appetizer were eaten and we were still left with a decent amount of guacamole and in the past we were always offered extra chips. Not this time. We then ordered our main courses, one sirloin medium rare and one New York medium rare. During the wait for our meal our drinks had run out and we were without water. We waited around twenty minutes, only to see our server pass us by several times. A different gentleman then delivers our food. We ask the gentleman serving the food if we could get some waters and some pepper, he said he would let the server know. We wait another 10-15 minutes until finally I had to get up and walk to the bar to get water from there. Our main courses were not cooked properly, the sirloin steak was requested medium rare and we received blue rare, as for the New York they couldn’t even be bothered to sear the fat that was at least one quarter of the steak. Both steaks were almost impossible to cut and to chew. The pepper never came, we informed the waitress about the quality of the food, she said that she would see what her manager would do about it, but guess what? A manager never came to speak with us. We were both very disappointed and let down by this experience. If this is now the standard I do not think we will be returning...
Read moreOur services was great, sadly we had an incident involving our child. Our child is autistic and has troubles eating certain foods and has a limited palette. We thought chicken was one of the safe foods so we ordered the kids chicken fingers. He was claiming it was spicy. He only had a few bites and kept claimed his stomach hurt and that he constantly needed to use the bathroom. We kept trying to get him to have a few more bites, but we pushed him too far and he vomited. I took a bite of the chicken and I noticed it had a slight kick to it. I have a low spice tolerance and my child's spice tolerance is even worse, claiming black pepper is spicy. This is not me saying the chicken is spicy because I could see how it was a flavorful breading and the average consumer would not consider it spicy, but I also remember hating pepper and anything "spicy" when I was a child and I would have considered the chicken spicy. My child also had two glasses of chocolate milk (he's not lactose intolerant) which could have contributed to the stomach issues. I'm just curious to know what was in the breading of the kids chicken fingers so I can figure out what my child was reacting to so we can learn for the future. I forgot the waiter's name, but we're still so sorry for what happened that night and we're sorry you had to clean up the mess. It is no one's fault but our own. Everything else was cooked wonderfully and our service was good, we made a mistake regarding our child's food and it had a messy...
