In Saskatoon for the Elton John concert and was determined to have Chinese food from a place I have never visited.
Spent a couple days trying to figure out where I wanted to eat and went with Oceana. Now, I'm not normally the type to complain and my palate is not very discerning as I'll eat almost anything, but I can't be silent in this case.
I ordered a Combination 1A with the standard chicken fried rice, chow mein, and substituted sweet and sour chicken instead of the ribs.
I have never seen chicken chow mein or fried rice cooked with processed chicken slices that you see behind a supermarket deli counter. It was tasteless and I was disappointed in the fact that there didn't seem to be much effort in the preparation of the food.
If you're ever in the area and want to see for yourself the quality of food that I compared this example to, try the following restaurants:
Wing Fu, Elmsdale, Nova Scotia; Lin Garden, Enfield, Nova Scotia; or Foosing, Beaverbank, Nova Scotia.

Read moreI ordered take-out from Oceana, and I have to say that it was a nice change to finally have some very tasty Chinese food. Not only was the food good, but they were also very accommodating with allergies. One of my family members has as sensitivity to sesame seeds, and when I got to the restaurant to pick up my food, they asked whether sesame oil would be okay. I was surprised that they remembered, and was quite impressed that they used common sense to ask a very good question that almost every other restaurant wouldn't bother to ask. I'm glad they did, because the sensitivity includes sesame oil as well. They already made the original dish with sesame oil, so they quickly whipped me up another dish without sesame seeds or oil, and gave it to me free of charge. I'm very appreciative of the attention to detail and level of care that they provided, and will certainly be back many times in the future. Thank you for being so...
Read moreWe ordered delivery on a Friday evening and it arrived 40 minutes. It's pretty decent timing 👌 especially since the restaurant is 15 minutes away. We got the dinner for 2 A, deep fried, spring rolls, one egg roll, and a large deluxe wonton soup. The sweet n sour ribs that were in the dinner for 2 were mostly all bone, barely any meat on them, so those were disappointing. The Shanghai noodles in the chicken chow mein were great! Not greasy. The battered deep fried shrimp 🍤 were fantastic! Everything else was alright 👍
Wonton soup was nothing special. The broth didn't have much flavor. It seemed like it was just vegetable stock from a carton. Other than those comments, I would order from here to try a few...
