VP Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Saskatoon

I stopped into VP Restaurant and Bar for my first time this morning.

I was the first and only customer in when they opened at 7 AM. For some reason, it still took over 10 minutes for the server to come to my table and take my order.

I ordered the $7.95 breakfast special. It's a good value - not many places where you can get breakfast for that price anymore. The breakfast was good. It's definitely something I'd consider ordering again.

Service was slow during my breakfast, even though there was only one other customer in the restaurant. I had to refill my coffee myself twice, and the water I asked for never arrived.

Edit: I came in for a second time on November 10th. Despite the place being almost packed, my order was taken almost immediately after being seated. My breakfast came out extremely fast, and my coffee was refilled every time my cup was almost empty.

Extremely different experiences. My previous rating was a 3. I'd give it a 5 based off this visit, so that averages out to a 4, which will suffice until I see which of these experiences...

This place needs better servers! It has really good pizza. Sadly won’t be returning. Every time I come to pick up they take a while to acknowledge me waiting. Perhaps they need a bell signalling the front door opening. Its other half is a bar so I personally wouldn’t consider eating inside. This last time I was here I waited 9 minutes to receive my order. A server walked by me 3 times and didn’t say anything. A quick “I’ll be right with you”would’ve...

First time eating here. I was impressed with the menu choices and the portion sizes. I had the fish and chips and their homeade tartar sauce was very tangy and zesty. The 12oz hamburger steak is very flavorful and its broiled which makes it taste even better. Will definitely come back. Also had the deep fried wontons as an appetizer which also fabulous. The price food and beverages are very reasonable....
