I celebrated my birthday at Chuck’s and it was hands down one of the best dining experiences I have ever had. From the moment we walked in we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine welcome that set the tone for an amazing night. The staff treated us like VIPs, attentive without being intrusive, and enthusiastic like they were celebrating with us. That level of service made the whole evening feel special from start to finish.
The atmosphere at Chuck’s is perfect for a celebration. The dining room felt cozy and lively at the same time. There was a comfortable hum of conversation, tasteful music that enhanced the mood without overpowering conversation, and a layout that felt intimate but still energetic. The lighting was flattering and the decor struck a great balance between classic comfort and a fun, modern vibe. It felt like the exact kind of place you want to bring people to celebrate something important.
Now the food. Wow. Every dish we tried was executed perfectly. The flavors were bold, balanced, and clearly made with care. Appetizers arrived hot and plated beautifully. Our mains were well timed and cooked to perfection. Each bite was delicious in a different way and you could tell the kitchen uses quality ingredients and skilled techniques. Portions were generous, presentation was on point, and the menu had something for everyone in our group. If you want consistency and dishes that actually make you say wow, Chuck’s delivers.
Because it was my birthday the staff went above and beyond with dessert. They surprised me with so many treats it felt like a mini dessert parade. The unexpected generosity made the night unforgettable. Every dessert tasted amazing and they kept bringing out sweet surprises that made the celebration feel personalized and fun. That level of thoughtfulness and generosity for a birthday really shows they care about their guests and creating memorable moments.
Service throughout the night was impeccable. Drinks were refilled promptly, the server checked in at just the right moments, and everything arrived when it should have. The team handled a busy night with grace and maintained a joyful energy that rubbed off on the whole table. They clearly know how to make special occasions feel, well, special.
Overall I give Chuck’s five stars for food, service, and atmosphere. Whether you are celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, or just a night out, do yourself a favor and book a table. They made my birthday feel genuinely special and delivered excellent food and a fantastic vibe the entire night. Highly recommended. I will...
Read moreMy husband and I came to eat dinner on Friday evening with our 7 month old son as we rarely get to have a night out.
Upon arrival there was a crowd of people waiting to be seated so we stood in line waiting to be seated. I bent down to adjust my son’s soother when the metal “please wait to be seated sign” tipped over hitting me in the head and almost hitting my baby. Of course this was accidental and my husband moved the sign off of me and moved it about 2 feet over to avoid any further injuries.
We were immediately and aggressively greeted by the manager who grabbed the sign placing it back beside me and my son. He raised his voice and stated “the sign stays right here!! Do not move the sign!!” My husband calmly explained that it had fallen and he simply did not want anyone else getting injured. He then again said “do not touch the sign - it stays right there”. After about 5-10 minutes of trying to explain why the sign was moved - he opened the doors and told us to “get out and never come back”. I’ve never felt so embarrassed or humiliated in my life. I refused to leave at first and explained that I was expecting an apology or any form of consideration for what had just occurred and would like to be seated to enjoy our evening.
The manager then quickly pulled his cell phone out or his pocket very aggressively and put his personal cell phone directly in my face (almost touching my nose) - I truly felt that he was about to hit me. He continued to record us and we left the establishment.
I have shared this story with many of my friends and family who have had similar experiences with this manager. To be treated as though I was a criminal or had done something wrong after being injured is completely unacceptable.
I have notified ALL head offices and managers - upon further reviews it seems that the customers at this restaurant are not safe!!
Many MANY customers lost and charges will likely be laid if not...
Read moreA group of 6 of us went to Chuck's Roadhouse in the Sault to celebrate my Mom's birthday. We went very early (5 PM) to avoid the crowds but it was still packed and we had to park next door because there was no parking. Luckily we were able to get a table without a wait. It was so cold in the place we had to keep our big winter coats AND scarves on for the entire time. 3 of us ordered T bone steaks or steak and lobster, 1 of us ordered chicken fingers and fries, 1 ordered the roast beef dinner, and the other ordered fish and chips.
We waited an hour for the food and only the people who ordered fish and chips or chicken fingers and fries were happy. Everyone who ordered steak ordered it medium rare and 2 arrived well done, and the other arrived burnt to a crisp. Charcoal. She refused to complain or send it back because she was so hungry and didn't want to wait another hour for a new plate. Her lobster was so overcooked she could barely cut it.
All of the steak orders were stone cold, not even warm. The chicken, fish, and roast beef were warm but not hot. It's no wonder as it was so cold in the restaurant that the food probably got cold on the way out of the kitchen.
We also ordered the cheesy garlic bread appetizer and it was not toasted bread. It was just a cold bun and seemed like it had been microwaved to melt the cheese. Worst garlic bread anyone had ever tried. One person ordered the salad and said it was good.
The only redeeming quality about the place was our waitress, Lisa. She was very sweet and patient. If not for her we would have complained to the manager about the food quality. None of us will...
