Went for supper with my sister. Inside of the restaurant is clean and has a very casual atmosphere almost like a takeout. I ordered the crispy pata with a side of garlic rice and my sister had the shrimp tamarind soup. It took very long for our order to arrive to the table - probably close to an hour from when we got seated to get our food. However, the food was tasty. The pata was fried pork hock. It had pretty good flavour on its own and had a vinegar dipping sauce with it mixed with peppers, onions, etc. The pork hock was crispy on the outside and tender inside. As it is pork hock, it looks like a lot more meat than it actually has. The rice was sticky and had a good garlic flavour. My sister enjoyed the shrimp soup. It came in a huge bowl. There was quite a bit of shrimp and the shrimp was quite large. She enjoyed it and said the soup had a somewhat sour taste, which the waitress did mention the soup had. While this isn’t my usual type of meal, I liked it and would recommend it to people interested in trying Filipino food or who generally like East Asian food.

This is my first time dining here, and we opted for the family set meal. The pork sisig was too spicy for my taste, lacking the crispiness I expected. The lomi was rather bland, and the pancit canton was overly salty. However, the beef bulalo soup stood out as the highlight of the meal. The gulaman, leche flan, and sansrival desserts were delightful. The chop suey was just average, nothing remarkable. On the other hand, both the lumpiang shanghai and honey garlic chicken wings were quite tasty. Overall, I appreciated the warm Filipino hospitality, and the restaurant’s simple yet pleasant interior and exterior.

Authentic filipino food. I ordered sisig here, and it definitely tastes what it's supposed to taste. Not watered-down or too much. It feels like Im back in the Philippines eating sisig during lunch in University. Great place with a great selection of Filipino dishes that are very palatable, even for those who have never tasted filipino cuisine. Plus, the desserts are really good, although I wish the halo-halo had more ingredients in it. All in all, it's a great place, provides great service, and great food.

My son and I had a great supper at Kainan. Grace served us and she was super friendly and knowledgeable giving us wonderful insight into Filipino food.

They have typical Canadian fare also and other stir fries...but we wanted to try Filipino food.

I had Pork sisig and garlic rice. The pork is a skillet type of dish with a generous amount of pork sautéed in onion, bit of chili and a mayo sauce...with an egg on top. I had my egg scrambled on the side. Very flavourful dish and the garlic rice was a wonderful side.

My son had the Filipino breakfast with garlic fried rice and a fried egg. He chose the Longsilog which is a tasty no casing Filipino sausage . He also quite enjoyed his dish.

Then we finished up with Leche Flan which is a caramel topped custard. Very rich and dense and the homemade carmel sauce is just the right amount of sweetness to balance the flavour.

Great supper and super yummy homemade deserts with a Filipino flair.

We will be...
