Quaint and cozy Filipino-Canadian restaurant located on Main St in downtown Shediac. SARAP is located in the corner unit in the historic building next to Pascal-Poirier park.
While SARAP may be minuscule in size, it makes up for it's tiny footprint with delicious, authentic and flavorful Filipino style food.
I've visited this establishment twice in the last few weeks. The restaurant is small, with a half a dozen seats by the window and a small table with chairs. Both times we managed to sit without much hassle. There is a small bathroom available to the public. The bathroom and dining area are clean, stylishly decorated and has ample amounts of natural light due to the large windows at the front of the dining area.
SARAP is evidently a fan favorite in the community, with a constant influx of customers coming and going while we were there. The hostess at the cash was very friendly, amicable and funny. The food was absolutely delectable and flavorful. Admittedly, it was my first time trying Filipino food, and I very much look forward to my next visit at SARAP.
Additionally, in the neighboring unit, there is a SARAP market, where they sell various Filipino/Mexican/Ethnic prepackaged foods. They also sell meat and various toiletries.
Overall, SARAP appears to be a community staple in Shediac, and is definitely a welcomed addition to the tapestry of food diversity being...

I had the absolute honour of introducing my new Filipino friends to SARAP in Shediac. They were very excited, especially when finding out the staff spoke in the dialect they knew from their home island.
For food, I went with the Pork Adobo combo meal with a halo-halo for dessert. I was raised in Winnipeg and went to school with quite a few Filipinos, so enjoying this delicious food was really lovely and nostalgic for me. The Adobo was super fresh, easy to eat with my choice of fried rice (which was also very much great on its own btw, I know top tier fried rice when I see it haha). Flavours are well balanced, nothing was overly salty or dry. Heck, even the lumpia (spring rolls were good). No complaints at all!
The halo-halo was a real treat. A blend of tasty fruits in shaved ice that was equally refreshing as it was fun to scoop at some ingredients. To the uninformed, it eats somewhat like a DQ Blizzard but is wayyyy better. The red spoons reminded me of that.
Honestly, I am very pleased with my time at SARAP and would not mind coming back to check out more of their menu. It's places like these that make me think Shediac might just be revered as the Filipino capital of New Brunswick 😋
10/10...
Read moreBarbeque is my favourite as it is soft and purely just meat. And the sauce was nothing like I’ve ever tasted.
We also ordered an avocado shake, halo-halo, cheese hotdog with fries. Nahurot gyud og kaon kay puros lami. ❤️😊
Shout out to Ate Melody and the staff for the warm welcome. Lahi ra gyud kung makakaon ka og restaurant nga maabi-abihon.
If you ever happen to visit Shediac, New Brunswick and are looking for Pinoy food, duawa ni ang Sarap. ❤️
Update as of 11.1.2024: We bought the fried chicken this time, and let me tell you, they were juicy, the skin was crispy, and they were seasoned right at least based on my palate. So, even if it’s quite far from Moncton, we will come back because the service and quality are consistent, plus they have other food on the menu which I’m sure is delicious. The food reminds...
