Exceptional rude staff. We went thru the drive thru. Half our order was missing. When we called, staff just said hello, not A&W. We told them they forgot half out order. We were told to come back & get it. We said no it’s after midnight. Then the guy who could barely speak English hung up on us. We tried calling back 8 times & no one answered.
We called back in the morning. A woman answered & said she was the supervisor on duty. I told her we went through the drive thru at midnight. She had difficulty understanding what midnight was. I explained that midnight is 12:00am and proceeded to explain what happened. She went back & forth between my call & the drive thru. So I had to explain the situation each time she came back to the phone. I asked if there was someone I could continue the conversation who wouldn’t have to go back & forth. She said the restaurant manager/owner was in vacation out of the country for 3 months & left them understaffed & unsupervised. It was clear the poor girl was run off her feet. It’s sad the restaurant manager/owner has so little disregard for their tram as to leave them for 3 months without any support. The girl offered to replace the missing portion of my order. But it was clear she was frustrated & run off her feet. I’ll pick up the replacements. And it’ll be the last time I go to A&W. Read moreI ordered a mozza and a teen burger from the baseline broadmoor blvd a&w, we drove all the way back to our house in Leduc county to find out the the burgers had a small piece of bacon and were extremely pink on the inside after a few bites in. So hungry and disgusted with the inedible food that we had just eaten, we drove the 30min drive back to get new burgers. We explained to the lady what had happened she then brought her manager out and when we explained to him the situation he was only concerned if we had our receipt in which the first cashier did not give us. After arguing that we had been here 1hr earlier the manager finally decided to give us new burgers in which we had to sit and wait for another 10 min. No one apologized until the very end and they looked annoyed that we had asked for new burgers. Providing customers with raw beef is not only a health risk it is negligent and we should’ve at least been treated with respect which means not arguing over a receipt when your company sold raw beef to customers, it shouldn’t matter what a&w it came from that is extremely unacceptable. Food should be served on heated plates otherwise food is cold within a few minutes of getting it.
Saw staff checking cell phones at the front counter while waiting for next customers. Cell phones should be put away.
Would prefer that tables are cleared promptly of dirty dishes and tables cleaned with soap and water and then sanitizer, rather than using a cloth to clean several tables at once.
Positives are that prices are reasonable, discounts on Mondays and Wednesdays for seniors having breakfast. And I think Fridays too?
Also they use real cutlery and plates which is appreciated. Counter service is generally good.
For late nights you can order food on their app for pickup at drive through but on several occasions I have had to wait 15 to 20 minutes for my order.
Staff told me that only one person is available to cook while the other cleans equipment. For some reason they don’t prepare food ordered on app until customer arrives. Not sure why.
