Denny's Restaurant — Restaurant in Sherwood Park

A month ago I left a 5/5 review for this place. We had the best service, maybe of all time from Kayla K. I still stand by that.

Tonight however I can’t quite explain the experience. A friend and i showed up for dinner. After we ordered I was informed by my partner that she would be joining so I asked the server if I could place an order for her. That was met with a less than friendly response. What followed was a serious of events best explained as the worst service I’ve ever had. Countless times we were given zero cutlery. We were there almost 3 hours, I was never once asked if I wanted a refill on my coffee. My partner was never offered a beverage at all. Our plates were not cleaned up ever. We wanted to order more. We were not attended to once past dropping food off. Instead of checking in on our experience our server (whose name I don’t know because we weren’t even given our bill) spent her time complaining loudly and flopping herself on the front counter literally. My partner had to actually bring her leftovers to the car in a napkin because we were never asked if we needed anything wrapped up. Unfortunately the manager on duty was just as bad. Clearly saw we were waiting for service and continued to ignore us. After our last experience I talked up this place so much to friends. That was clearly a mistake. This was a next level disappointment, again, we were ready to spend more money there.

I have previously been very impressed with this Denny’s as I have been going here occasionally since I was a kid, however today was a terrible experience. We first got sat at a table that was dirty underneath. Not a big deal since the table itself was clean. When we got our food I was very disappointed. I have gotten the Denver omelette grand slam every time I have been here and it has never been this disgusting. Not to mention the size difference between how it was and how it should be. It is always about half the plate. This time it was about a quarter of the plate. The toppings were VERY minimal. When we brought it up to the server she went to get a new one made. I was okay with that as long as I would get what I ordered. She brought a new one the same size and said I could keep both. I was getting the portion I was paying for so I was fine with that. When I went to eat it I was disgusted. The cheese was the processed plastic like cheese. The onions were barely cut or sautéed. I barely saw any peppers. The egg was dry and overall it was very disappointing. The manager was the only good part of the service as she didn’t make me pay and asked questions to try to understand what had happened. The server was alright, not terrible...

My family and I had an amazing experience at Denny's recently, and I just had to leave a review! From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The manager, Naman, was incredibly welcoming and made sure everything ran smoothly throughout my visit. It’s clear he truly cares about the customer experience. Our server, Raven, was an absolute gem! She was attentive, friendly, and really went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. She had such a positive attitude and made the whole dining experience feel so enjoyable. As for the food, it was delicious! Everything was fresh, hot, and perfectly cooked. The pancakes were fluffy, the eggs were just right, and the coffee was the perfect pick-me-up. It’s not often you find a spot that hits all the marks, but Denny's really nailed it today. We will definitely be coming back and recommending this location to friends and family. Thanks, Naman and Raven, for making it such a great visit! Keep up...
