I will not ever be giving my business to any McDonald’s in Sherwood park, I will drive into the city from now on which is a shame considering we are regular customers that come twice a day. Every morning I go through the drive through 1-2x a day and after buying my food and drinks I go inside to fill up my wife’s tumblers with extra ice because she likes a lot of ice with her drinks. She’s pregnant and also dealing with excruciating chronic back pain with 2 metal rods and 17 screws down the entire length of her spine and eating ice is the one thing that comforts her and helps her cope with the pain but even after explaining this we were still harshly told that we are not allowed to come back to this location. This same manager who was so rude also told us we can’t have ice because we need to pay for it so I told her I was more than happy to pay for it and asked her to take me to the til to pay but after that she said there is no button for ice so they can’t sell ice.. how does that make sense? I even offered to give a donation to the Ronald McDonald’s house but she also said we cannot do this. I have no issues paying for ice, it helps my wife so much that she would be willing to spend any amount on being able to have the ice. We used to always get ice from another location in Sherwood park and they were so welcoming and would even say hi to me each day but recently they switched the type of ice that comes out of the machine so we started coming to this location instead which is actually a lot further from our house. We would love to be able to buy ice at the gas station but it is always big pieces and the ice at McDonald’s is perfect for her to munch on. This makes her day better and helps her cope with her disability. We decided to stop coming here and return to the old location that has allowed us to do this for months prior but we were stopped and told that we can’t come here anymore either because this manager decided to call ALL the other McDonald’s in Sherwood Park to tell them not to allow us to get ice. We explained again to this location that we will pay but again that is apparently not allowed so no matter what we do my wife cannot get the one thing that makes her day bearable. Absolutely disgusting that they won’t allow a regular customer to get extra ice even after we explained how this helps someone cope with their pain. The ice is constantly refilling and it comes from the tap and we are paying customers and buy other items...

A few days later and I notice my refund hadn’t been processed in my bank account yet, so I called McDelivery support and they said sorry they can’t refund because I didn’t call within 72 hours to request a refund.
I was positive they misunderstood me and asked for a manager, when they called me back, the manager said the McDonalds policy is that they do not issue refunds if the customer doesn’t call within 72 hours. He said because it was the first time this happened to me he would refund me, then proceeded to ask me what caused me not to call within 72 hours to request the refund.. the only thing I could think to say after I stopped laughing (I honestly thought he was joking) is “I’ve never heard of a business not only not automatically refunding their customer when they cancel an order on them, but requiring that customer to call and ASK for the refund. This is one of the most ridiculous policies I’ve ever heard of.”
The manager didn’t have much to say to that (I apologized if I came across rude), but did refund my money after trying to shame me for neglectfully failing to call them within 72 hours.. the business who canceled my order.. then kept my money.. then refused to refund my money for the order I paid for and didn’t get (because they canceled it.. and didn’t refund me).. until I spoke with a manager.

Read moreI literally just had the worst experience ive ever had at a mcdonalds at this location! I went through the drive thru and asked for a double cheese burger meal with just ketchup and was told that isn't an option but to have a mcdouble meal instead. I said okay and asked for the charge of and Xtra slice of cheese and was told thats not possible. Ok whatever. Fine. I leave with my order and discover my burger that should have had only ketchup had everything but ketchup on it. I went back through the drive thru for them to fix it. I muched on the fried to discover some were cold and soggy and others were cold and rubbery. I gave the cheeseburger back at the window and she threw it out for me. Another woman came to the window with a corrected burger and I tried to give her back the cold fries. She refused to take them. I said why not since the last lady took the cheeseburger back. End of the day, my burger was cold, my fries were cold, the snotty male kid at the drive thru refused to let me order an extra slice of cheese and employees apparently have different rules depending whose at the window.
