I'm not sure if there's an actual storefront or if all the ordering is online/pick-up only due to the ongoing pandemic. Online orders open at 8am for pick-up the following day. Man, do you have to be quick! They sell out rapidly, and for good reason. I was able to nab the cheesy everything, sea salt, jalapeno cheddar, seedy hun, and their feature for the week, orange vanilla. They also sell a variety of cream cheeses, and I ordered the cheddar chive. The creamsicle bagel was nice because it wasn't overly sweet and had a nice crust to it. The savouries had the right amount of topping and were wonderfully flavoured. All the bagels are nice and chewy and although they recommend to enjoy them the day they're purchased, I've kept mine in an airtight container on my counter for a couple of days now and haven't noticed their quality diminish at all really. I'd love to try the bagels I didn't get a chance to order, and hope to do so in the future if I'm...
Read moreI had been wanting to try Bagel Bar after seeing it promoted by a food influencer on Instagram. It was marketed by this Insta profile as some of the best bagels in Edmonton, but I found them just okay.
At $3.50 each, they’re on the pricier side—though they do offer two free if you buy 10, bringing a dozen total to $35. Even with that deal, I didn’t quite see what made these stand out.
I also tried a couple of the specialty cream cheeses. The salmon cream cheese was decent, and their prices for specialty spreads are in line with other providers. As for the cookies- cute branding (“Chonk”) they’re huge but a bit pricey at $5 each. I brought everything to work, and the feedback was mixed—about the Chonk cookie, someone said it was the biggest cookie they’d ever had, but I didn’t hear anyone call it the best.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but for the price, I...
Read moreSo, I've tried a lot of bagels across North America, and I mean a LOT! I can honestly say that I can't ever recall having a better bagel than Bagel Bar offers. So worth the price for a gourmet bagel! We stumbled upon this place when it was strictly a pre-order curb-side pick-up, and got in the habit of ordering a supply every time we knew we were coming into Edmonton. Now with their walk-in service, it's even more convenient! One bagel is a meal, all by itself! You'll need to try a variety, until you determine your favourite flavour. There's a great discount if you buy a dozen, too. The bagels are hand-made with awesome ingredients, tremendous when fresh, and if you freeze them, just as good! Love this place, love management and staff's commitment to excellence. Thank you for giving Edmonton first-class bagels, and for making my taste buds and...
