Barcelos Flame Grilled Chicken exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for an exceptional dining experience. The aroma of freshly grilled chicken was irresistible, making me eager to try their famous flame-grilled dishes.

The chicken was perfectly cooked—juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor. The peri-peri marinade had just the right balance of spice and tang, making every bite a delight. I also tried their sides, and they were just as impressive. The peri fries were crispy and flavorful, and the coleslaw was fresh and creamy, complementing the chicken perfectly.

Forget Nando's if you love chicken! This is a franchise, there I said it. Now lets rate it. This place actually marinates their chicken, not just adding sauce the last minute to change the heat level. The chicken is oh so juicy, tender and done to perfection. We had the mild peri and medium peri they were 2 completely different flavor profiles which was a welcomed unexpected treat. We had the SUPER FAMILY PACK which feeds 5 - 6 people and includes 2 Whole Chicken, 3 Large Sides, 4 Rolls or Garlic Toast $85.99. I have to mention the large Sides are worth $10.49 and $12.99. Not included were the fountain drinks worth $3.49 and Peri dip at $1.89 for a total of $100.85. There was 3 adults, with enough leftovers to feed 4 kids, or 2 adult sized meals very easily and we were stuffed. The whole chickens are served cut up so you're not ripping or tearing a bird apart at the table. For our Sides we chose rice, fries sprinkled with seasoning salt, Portuguese style salad which was not wilty, but fresh and crisp and we almost finished that except that 1 mouthful that nobody had room for, and the yellow rice which was cooked just right. If you're a chicken lover don't expect the fried chicken like Popeyes, Mary Browns, or KFC, this was BBQ style done different than those above mentioned establishments. We’ve been loyal customers of the Windermere location for quite some time, mainly because the food has consistently been excellent. However, during our last visit, we were extremely disappointed by the portion size—specifically the chicken. The piece we were served was so small it looked like it came from a malnourished chicken. Honestly, we wouldn’t buy chicken that size to cook at home, let alone serve it to guests—yet somehow, this is what they’re serving paying customers. If this trend continues, they’re headed down the same path as KFC: shrinking portions and shrinking customer base.

We decided to give another location a try. On our first visit, everything was perfect—great taste, proper chicken size, and the overall experience was pleasant. Encouraged by that, we returned the next day only to find the same issue: tiny chicken pieces again.

We raised the concern, but unfortunately, there was no manager on site. The staff member we spoke to said they couldn’t do anything about it, as that’s what they received from the franchise. While I appreciate their honesty, it’s still disappointing that there’s no accountability or effort to make things right for the customer.
