Joe Pesto's Wood Fired Pizzeria — Restaurant in Squamish

I came here due to the amazing reviews. Because of that I left disappointed. If I had come with no expectations I would have been satisfied. No more, no less.

I can’t comment much on the service since they are only doing take out at this time. What I can say though is that for the 2 minutes I was inside, the lady I spoke with was kind and efficient.

I tried the margherita and pepperoni pizzas. The crust on both pizzas was fantastic. Slight crunch on the initial bite into a nice and soft inside. The pepperoni crust was slightly soggy but I can’t nit pick considering the generous portion of pepperoni and the amount of oil pepperoni has in it. The pizza sauce as well was good. It was not anything memorable but it had a nice sweet tang to it.

The margherita pizza was disappointing. As you can see in the photos below they were quite skimpy on the cheese. A few slices almost had no cheese at all. On top of that the cheese was cheap and rubbery. This was the most disappointing/baffling part of my experience. It’s hard for me to understand how you can have a fantastic crust, a good sauce and then decide to cheap out on both the portion and quality of the cheese. Half of the bites were simply crust and sauce, which still tasted good, but wasn’t what I wanted.

As for the pepperoni pizza, it was good, but not amazing. The pepperoni on top kind of overpowered the over all taste. That’s my only complaint as far as the pepperoni goes.

Google reviews usually suck because they are rarely objective. I wish this business nothing but the best and I hope future patrons find this review both...

Today at 3:00 we went to this beautiful place where they had the best pizza ever Joe Pedro's in squamish we were riding our bike from Coquitlam to squamish and I was looking for a pizza place and my husband found this pizza place oh my God is it ever amazing the owner his name is Joe amazing we got there The door was open for the restaurant Joe came out the restaurant is not open until 4:00 so we asked if it's okay we stay here in the restaurant until your restaurant is ready to serve pizza Joe said yes that to me is so appreciated most places will not let you stay their restaurant before they open that's good business so young man for me door pizza he was amazing he be there pizza and it was like Art if anyone ever wants to go to squamish and have a fantastic pizza and good service and good people this is the place I would recommend it to anybody if my family came to visit me from Montreal I would bring them there to have a pizza all you folks in squamish lucky to have an awesome pizza place please continue supporting Joe and his pizza place it's amazing it's worth the drive Ride just to eat this pizza there was a young lady there also working there kind person excellent excellent staff members because they have a cool boss may God bless you I need a restaurant continue serving the people in squamish and all over lower mainland thank you so much yours truly Gloria and...

Our first experience with Joe Pesto's occurred when they first opened, when they knowingly overcharged us on our bill and refused to return our money to us.

8 months later we tried again.

It was a busy Friday night, the restaurant is small (maybe seats 40 people?), and our children were with us. We put our name down on a waitlist, when the owner recognized my name and that I gave her a 2/5 review on Facebook 8 months ago. She went into a tirade about how I ruined her business (which was busy.... and she has generally good reviews), that I need to delete my original review, that I unfriended her on Facebook (?), that we ordered weird things (?), I was shocked.

When a customer or client provides a bad review, a business owner should be eager to get them back and make things right by providing a great second or third experience. Instead, this woman chased us out of her restaurant and then proceeded to tell the other people that were waiting about us.

I have never in my life been treated that unfairly and unprofessionally. To be yelled at in front of my children in a crowded restaurant over a bad review?? It's too bad we couldn't give it a second chance.
