Gaudet's Seafood — Restaurant in St. Albert

I ordered, in person at the store face to face, 30 lbs of live crawfish to be picked up Friday. We had a complete conversation about the crawfish, she told me she had the seasoning in store for when I picked them up. Friday came along, guests from out of town were on their way, i got a call from Gaudettes telling me my order had arrived. I verified that I could also grab the seasoning when picking up the crawfish. She says"i ordered you lobster?" I explained that my order was for crawfish not lobster to which she replied well all those went out yesterday, ive only got 5 lbs, do you know anyone else who would want live lobster?..... not an apology, no trying to make it right. Even still I went it to buy the remaining 5lbs of crawfish and some of the lobster, yes It was 2 hours after our phone conversation, but I was EXTREMELY disappointed as we'd purchased everything for a crawfish boil, not lobster. Without calling me back to verify I wanted any if not all, she had sold them on me, now I'm stuck with nothing but her lowsey attitude towards me when I came into her store. Love this place! We have purchased food a few times from here and the food is always delicious! This past week we had company coming to visit down from Germany and wanted to do a big seafood feast including crab legs- I called my husband while at the store to confirm which size of crab legs he wanted me to purchase. The woman working overheard my conversation and the fact that we didn’t have a pot to cook the crab legs and offered that we bowwow hers to cook them and then bring the pot back the following week. Unbelievable kindness- my husband and I both were so thankful at what a generous and kind heart the woman working had. She just trusted we would return the pot - she didn’t even ask any questions. I have been purchasing seafood from Gaudet's since it opened in St. Albert. I have yet to be disappointed. The selection of fresh fish is excellent, and always changing, as fresh fish selection should. The frozen fish selection is wonderful, as is the sashimi selection as well, whether that be flash frozen or fresh. Shirley is always there, ready to answer any questions, very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a wonderful place with great prices and friendly service, Gaudet's is the place, no need to look further.
