Normally go to this location(St. Albert), & fairly frequently, am less inclined to go back again after tonight's pima, and that means all Wok Boxes too, unless I have time to eat in(rarely, maybe 1 out of every 10 visits). Went and got my own usual order tonight and their limited time tempura Green Beans. Don't often get the incidentals as they're just a little to expensive to justify when the main meal fairly filling and one of the more expensive "fast" food places, but it's New Years Eve. I get home and go to eat, only to discover that they put neither my Tempura NOR the Receipt in my bag. I know I should have checked before leaving but I like to pretend people are honest and trustworthy(although both McD's and Tims have screwed up too often, amazing when you only order the one every 3 months and the other place can't get Black Coffee right.), however now that I'm home with no way back out there tonight, I can't waste the extra gas on them remedying the situation, nor will they. They have 2 people on staff and are now busy, and closing soon, although they also obviously won't give up their skip the dishes delivery for it. Between that and an actual attempt to leave a tip(it is the holidays), I doubled the amount I would normally have spent. Seriously regretting that tip. With no receipt I can't go back when they open again, in several days, as their only other option to my not being able to go back out there(10-15 minute drive). It makes one wonder if keeping that $$ was planned. Long and short, treat 'em like the other guys, at best, incompetent, with no real desire to right anything, and leaving me with no option,...
Read moreWent into the establishment this evening for my dinner break at work. I get a 30 minute break and usually wok box is quick. Today they only had one girl and I ordered my meal and then the phone ring. She was on the phone for 13 minutes and I had to ask for a refund because I had 15 minutes left on my break by the time she came back to the counter she did not want to give me a refund said she could have my meal cooked in two minutes. I said that won’t give me time to eat it because I have to be back to Work now in 12 minutes. So she made a phone call and they were not gonna give me my money back she said it would take her two minutes to cook it and I said I now have 11 minutes to get back to work. There’s not enough time to drive back to work and eat. I finally got my refund however I won’t be going back because if the establishment doesn’t care enough to have more than one person working so the other can take orders it’s not worth my time. I did not get a meal this evening I work 14 hour shifts and I drive an hour two and From work. I’m very frustrated because this is my only meal...
Read moreOur family likes to eat noddle boxes and we've been at different restaurants. We've also been at quite a few Wok Boxes over the year.
Our last visit was just "meh". We ordered 3 different meals and all were quite bland and practically tasting the same. The udon noodles were undercooked. An after taste of dirty wok was noticeable with at least 2 of the dishes.
Prices have gone up significantly over the years while the quality has gone down.
We paid $55 for 3 regular bowls and 3 pops. Of course, the tip "options" are 15%, 20% and 25% even though you have to order at the counter, retrieve you own meal and dispose of your garbage yourself.
The staff appeared indifferent to customer service and the place is left in an equally indifferent ambiance; from he opened box of laminate flooring greeting customers at the front door to the bathroom that is need of a good deep clean.
In summary, I think we will skip that location in favour of another noodle location or to a more 'mom and pop' asian place. This chain or this specific franchise is not what...
