Highly disappointed with this location, and ultimately corporate.
I have dealt with everything at this store, from rude staff, a staff member throwing her headset in rage because it wasn't working properly, poorly constructed sandwiches, and being denied the food I've ordered for store or corporate issues, multiple times. The McDonald's in town has always had polite staff, and I don't remember the last time my order was wrong or poorly made, and I eat there at least 4 times as often.
Today I ordered a breakfast platter at approx 12:30am and was denied that based on something I could not understand through the poor quality intercom system in the drive thru, also an issue non existent up the street. Turns out, that the platters are not offered past a certain time due to grill temperatures. This following is directly from the A&W website:
"Our All-Day Breakfast menu includes our Eggers, hashbrowns, breakfast wraps, and coffee.
After 11:00 am all our grills are wiped down and turned up so that we can efficiently cook meat patties. We arenât able to cook plated eggs at these high temperatures."
What this translates to, is the breakfast sandwiches use a pre-made egg patty, that is made in a factory, frozen, and then shipped to each individual store.
To me this just means that the "EGGER" sandwiches are made of nothing put processed food that sits on a shelf and waits for you, instead of being made fresh, like at the McDonald's down the street.
A&W has advertised for years about quality, freshness, and a superior product. There is nothing of the three mentioned attributes in a pre made loaf of egg, which is the sole reason I do not eat at places that use this tactic like: Subway, Tim Hortons, and now A&W. I will be going to places that serve their customers clean, quality, and fresh food.
Something that A&W likes to fake.
Too bad. Good thing you can get root beer elsewhere that...
Read moreWent in for breakfast this morning and ordered the Bacon and Egg Classic. When it was brought to me I had to soak up the grease from the bacon off my plate and then wrap the bacon in MORE napkins to drain the grease from it. It was disgusting.. I don't even think the bacon was fully cooked. I ate the two eggs and two pieces of toast. When leaving I called the counter staff over to show them the pile of napkins soaked in grease along with the bacon that I couldn't eat. She did offer me my money back and which I accepted without blinking an eye. This is not the first time that this breakfast has been presented to me like this and it wouldn't have been the first time I've actual thrown up from the bacon. You keep thinking, it will be better this time. Well definitely there won't be an next time at any A&W for me. AND the counter staff, if they could crack a smile and be polite and friendly, particularly at this location...as the saying goes "I'd...
Read moreMar. 12/2024: Well, 5 days have passed since I contacted your Guest Relations email address and, do you think anyone even acknowledged my email? I am less than impressed. And I am strongly recommending that guests consider very carefully whether to set foot in this restaurant. You think perhaps an apology and remediation might have been in order? Mar. 7/2024: I had a quick chicken sandwich for dinner and then I took one step into the washroom and I went flying, I hit the floor really hard, due to the fact that the floor was wet and soapy and there was no warning sign on the door. I immediately let one of the employees know who barely even acknowledged me and certainly did not apologize. I am a 64 year old woman and I am very lucky I did not break my hip or femur, although I have a bruise that is more than 8 in in diameter on my hip and leg. This happened on Feb. 29th (5 days ago) and I am still limping. Very upset by this restaurant's carelessness...
