Jamrock Irie Jerk — Restaurant in St. Catharines

Never again. Bought jerk chicken and curried goat and fish and felt like I just threw away all my money. The jerk chicken had no smokey taste it was just pure pepper. We went and asked for a refund but they gave use two pieces of fried chicken that was cold and stale. We had to throw it all away. These Jamaicans would rather lose customers than to refund our money. They are the meanest people on the planet. Terrible Jamaicans. RESPONSE TO YOUR RESPONSE Do you forget that we called before we came back in the restaurant for the refund and on the phone you asked if we started eating it saying if we did you cannot refund? Anyway you owe it to your customers warn them that your food is extremely hot and a wise person would make mild for people who cannot handle the excessive harshness. Recently we spent $188 at Red Lobsters and in short we experienced negative effects and were fully refunded. Same thing happened in Mississauga at Moxies we were pampered and the desert were on them and all happened is that they did not take the order properly. All I am saying is put your customers first. Moving to the Niagara region from the GTA, I would have serious cravings for ethnic foods. Jamaican/carribean style food is usually up there in my cravings, luckily St.Catherines has places to offer.

I came in around 11:30 or so on a Tuesday and got a large ox tail and asked for less rice and more coleslaw and they had no problem doing so. The portion I found was fair for it's price (I've been to many carribean restaurants so I have an idea on what's worth it and what's not). The Ox Tail was delicious and tasted fresh which was great! I am a bit of a salt fiend so I did have to add a tad bit more salt. That's just my preference. Rice and beans was good and coleslaw was amazing. My only real criticism was that the coleslaw had way too much dressing! I admit I went hold to strain out the excess creamy dressing and then it was fine.

I would definitely go back again and their other items on their menu! The restaurant was very clean and the service was extremely friendly and professional. Keep it up!

There's two Caribbean restaurants in St Catharines. This one does a better oxtail, but the other one has better customer service by far. This location has the worst customer service I have ever experienced, and there's absolutely no excuse or reason for it. This review has nothing to do about the food. If you want a lesson in how to have a bad attitude and be rude without saying anything rude or bad, take notes from the guy that takes your order. It sounds stupid to say, but it's so bad that after my last experience a week ago...I made the decision to never eat here again.

I've been described as a generous and patient man. The only reason I decided to write this review is because I thought that what I was experiencing was in my head...only to have good friend of mine (he's Jamaican) complain about the exact same thing!
