Meltwich Food Co — Restaurant in St. Catharines

I'm really trying my best to understand all the high rated reviews. I've tried this place a number of times with hope it's actually as good as the reviews keep saying.

Firstly. The number one issue is the food doesn't not match the price. There is no value to what you get. Now I understand if it was pricier and the food was above average but it's sadly not.

The food is mediocre at best. I've tried their grilled cheese, signature sandwiches, poutines. And all are just OK.

Their milkshakes are probably their best item and even that is average.

Now it's not all bad news. The service is usually good. But unfortunately this is more of a food review.

I don't really have any recommendations as this place is franchise and not much advise can do to improve anything.

I ordered the Bacon Avocado grilled cheese and my boyfriend ordered the Tattooed Chicken grilled cheese with Mac & cheese wedges. First off, both grilled cheeses were absolutely awful. The Bacon Avocado sandwich had barely any of its toppings and was a soggy gross mess. The chicken in the Tattooed Chicken sandwich was nearly undercooked and tasted purely like unseasoned cold wet meat. We both had a bite and a half of our sandwiches and said there’s no way. Now about the Mac & Cheese wedges. For the extra cost they are notttttt worth your time or money. It is 5 Kraft dinner breaded triangles for nearly $1 each, and they were given to us cold.

We will simply not be returning here and will not be recommending this place to anyone. For a total of $36.55 I am very very unpleased...

Delicious food! Amazing, helpful staff! I have a milk allergy so finding things I can eat can be difficult. I asked them if their Crispy Chicken contained milk - they checked the ingredients and informed me that it did. The owner told me to try the Vegan version instead, and promised that I would not be disappointed as it tasted the same as the regular one. This place has a huge vegan menu but I was definitely still skeptical as I wanted real chicken. He was right! It was absolutely delicious! The fries are also great and the gravy is SO good! Can’t recommend this place enough! Will definitely be back to visit them soon and try...
