Chicken Chef — Restaurant in Stonewall

Called at 6:00 to reserve and were told they were full so to come at 7:00. Asked if they would call us if a table opened up sooner. Walked in at 6:45 and the place was empty. Ordered water with a wedge of lemon. Water came and we were told they were all out of lemon. Ordered 4 - 3 pc chicken dinners with 2 sides. We were told the sides were fries and coleslaw. After we ordered the waiter came back and said they were out of coleslaw, so asked if we would like onion rings with our fries. I ordered a deep fried pickle instead of the onion rings and after awhile we were told they were all out of pickles. The place was empty but we waited over half an hour for our meals and When the orders came, one was missing the onion rings, the chicken was totally dry and overcooked. When we went to pay for the bill, we were charged extra for gravy and the pickle was still on my bill, even though they did not have it. Tastefully remodelled and beautifully redecorated version, under recently new ownership, of a long-time favourite restaurant in Stonewall, Manitoba. The two of us went there for a light supper on the first evening after moving in to our new abode. We were pleasantly surprised at the fresh new atmosphere. Requested a hot chicken sandwich (a nice twist on the beef classic) and a B.L.T. with fries (we shared the fries, of course 👍🏻😎🥳). Our meals came promptly, hot, generous, and delicious. The flavor of the pizza was good. Found the pepperoni was cut very very thin it might be a sign of the times but for a pizza that was double pepperoni it should have been a little more noticeable.

The service tonight was not the best. Had ordered our pizza at 5 40 and was supposed to be ready for 630 did

when I arrived to pick it up it was not ready I was told one of the cooks had booked sick the kitchen was very backed up we did not receive our pick up order until about 6 50.

It would have been great if they could have told us up front it was over an hour and a half wait Or at least called to notify us...
