I grew up eating Ken's French Fries from their truck by city hall. I even remember when they used to drive up and down city streets in the evening, bringing their cones filled with deliciously greasy, deliciously salty and vinegary fries to the people of Stratford. Little did I know that Bru Garden is a descendant of Ken's French Fries! I took the family there on Labour Day weekend to have lunch with another family, and we all had super AWESOME burgers, with the same fries I remember from my younger days! I can't believe that they offer malt vinegar as an option now. Everyone knows that Ken's fries MUST use simple white vinegar!!! Everyone enjoyed their meal tremendously. The outdoor dining was quite nice, but be warned that there can be quite a few wasps / yellow jackets buzzing around your meal. This place is definitely worth visiting again (and again and again). I am not sure if it is still the same owners from the 1990s or not (anyone remember Blondie's Burgers???), but if not, they definitely have the original recipe...
Read moreMe: yum... This is good food. Me: I can't wait to review this spot! Me: Yep!!!! This is one of those must try places when in town. I don't know what they put on them fries but lawd have mercy. I tried a smash cheese as well and it was fire too. What can I say but you must try Kens fries. Walked down since I wad stay at the Bradshaw. Before I realized I had no picture plate, half the food was gone! It was cooked to perfection. Man that smash cheese was fire!!! All I can say is thank you for not serving me a bland burger. I enjoyed every bite of it. The fries didn't have a chance. Warm hearty cut fries are delicious. Only had mine salted but there was some sauce on them that gave them an extra kick... Oh wee! I didn't expect to eat them all, bout that. The cup was empty. The next day I found their food truck at Canadian tires. Grabbed a family fry. Wish my dad could've tasted these....
Read moreNew review: Ordered a medium fries. I walked home, about 7 or 8 minutes. When I went to eat my fries, now only looking like small as there was 2-3 inches at the top of the cup empty, they tasted like old cooking oil, the salt was nowhere to be found on the fries, and the white vinegar was EXTREMELY watered down. The fries that were sitting in the supposed vinegar barely raised of vinegar at all. In the 1990s and early 2000s, I loved these fries. They were good and the condiments had flavor. Now I would be quite happy to never eat them again. I like the fries quite a bit, however at 12:45, the worker was not there. The sign said "be back soon." Guess by allowing your staff to take a break during lunch time, you have lost business. If there had been an indication of length of break or even a place to sit and wait it may have worked, but nothing...
