5 Forty Café — Restaurant in Sun Peaks Mountain Resort Municipality

Save yourself some time and money, and go to a different restaurant at Sun Peaks Resort, like Oya Sushi (see my review). We only went here because the other restaurants were full. Place was basically empty..should have been our first clue. Had the lemon pepper chicken wings and although they seemed fresh, skin was not crispy, seasoning was thrown onto the meat half hazardly, so that some pieces barely had any- whole meal was just off, made my stomach turn almost instantly. My partner had the Cubano and liked it, but in my opinion it also tasted off, as well as the tater tots which were mainly soggy (probably came out of a freezer bag, which I don't mind, but in that case at least make sure they're cooked properly). BE AWARE OF TAX ON YOUR BILLS I was very disappointed with my recent visit. The restaurant is overcharging Provincial Sales Tax (PST) on food items that are clearly exempt under BC laws. When I brought this up to the server, she was arrogant and dismissive, refusing to address the issue. The issue was addressed right after I told her I will bring this issue to B.C. TAX authorities and CRA.

This is not only frustrating as a customer but also a violation of BC tax regulations. Restaurants should be well aware of which items are taxable and which are not. It felt like either a lack of care or a deliberate attempt to...

After going through the menus of all the restaurants in this area, we decided to go with this restaurant, expecting flavourful Mexican food. No one was answering the phone so we went in person to order take out. The place was empty so we didn’t expect our server to mess up our simple order. When we took the food back to our hotel, we found out that we had been given some soggy jumbled mess of what we had ordered. Not only was our order incorrect -it was awful!
