Some of the best Japanese food we've ever had, and we've had a lot of Japanese food/sushi in our lives! Even cooler that it's literally a gem in the middle of the mountains in BC at the Sun Peaks Resort...who would have thunk it?!?! We had the Kobocha Korokke, Chicken Kara-age and Magma Dip sushi roll and everything was amazing!!! Korokke and Kar-age were fried to perfection; and Magma Dip had such interesting, in-depth flavours with just the right amount of spice...would have never thought to put pickled jalapeno in a sushi roll, but it works and the sauce also had great flavour! The restaurant itself is quite small, but cozy and had a very authentic feel to it, including the chef/cooks/servers. Chef seemed to take a lot of pride in his food. Would highly recommend! Surprised this place does not have more reviews/higher ratings- 100x better than some of the other restaurants in the resort!!

So this is an experience during sholder season, so a bit of weird review, they offer a local late night as seen in photo , however its very flakey to if it will be running or not, i am bit disappointed because so may locals recommend come here and we where told before being sat that we had to wait until 9 for the chicken dinner. But after sitting and having drink waiting to order we were told they were not actually doing the special and were closing, a d not it was 10 minutes to 9 so were unable to get food anywhere else. main reason this is 3 star for services is the server manager to recuse the day

Ramen was ok, the rolls were not. Service was good. The Ramen was just ok, the egg didn't have a jelly centre like I would expect, and I don't think it was marinated (though I'm not sure on that). I decided to give it another shot, and order some sushi for takeout. The rolls (dynamite and spicy salmon) were atrocious. I'm not sure who decided that dumping a whole container of sauce on a roll was a good idea, but it wasn't. Less is more. The plain Maki was decent, so I don't think it was a case of trying to cover up subpar ingredients (the stuff on the right in the pic was good).

Arrived just after 8pm, we were warmly welcomed and waited about 15 minutes for a table. We were served quickly. The food is pretty good and I would like to give a higher rating but our experience which started off really well ended on a sour note when they started closing up around us. We had been asked if we wanted anything else before the kitchen closed and we said nothing except some mango ice cream to finish. No.problem, she told us. Two other tables were still full with people enjoying their beverages. Music was turned off, servers started leaving. When we asked for our ice cream, the last remaining person serving, I think he was the owner, told us there was no ice cream today. It was clear they wanted to close up. He brought us the bill so our tip reflected our...

We were told this place was great so went in with some high hopes.

We made a reservation for 6pm. We arrived about 5 minutes before and were told our table wasn’t ready yet. Fair enough. We were finally seated at 6:20 ish. It then took a few minutes to get served to get a drink. So we finally got our Saki at 6:30. Then ordered some Nigiri, Sashimi and a roll which arrived just a little before 6:50. Asked if we could order some more Nigiri at 5 past seven and was told that because there are other reservations that we couldn’t.

So we were seated late and then rushed out after about 30 minutes. It felt like they didn’t care about our experience which put a cloud over our evening which is a shame because the food was actually very good and the wait staff...
