If I could leave a review less than one star I would. I do not have any sort of vendetta against this restaurant, these comments are all completely genuine. I hope you will have seen that I have tried to keep a mildly positive outlook on this situation with my jokes (what else are you going to do after something like this), but honestly, this is anything but funny. I realize its valentines day and they are busy, maybe they are inclined to cut some corners, but there is a limit to the madness! I am not a complainer or a "Karen" by any stretch of the imagination, I somehow ate the entirety of my disgusting meal (see image below) but at some point, you have to speak up for others. I will sleep better at night knowing that I may have stopped at least one person from eating here. If you do not want to bother reading the whole thing, the summary is that customer service is the worst I have ever seen, and the food is something that would break on kitchen nightmares, Gordon Ramsey would turn red and have a stroke. 1. I called ahead to see if I could order ahead of time. The lady said wait one second, and took at least five minutes to come back just to tell me that due to the large volume of orders they would not be accepting any call ins. I questioned why this was the case, because their website said that call in orders are accepted. The lady snapped at me and said "oh ya, have you ever ordered on valentines day huh?" I just said "ok, fair enough, rude of me to not consider that," she then hung up instantly without saying another word.I have worked customer service before, I know the pain of working on holidays, though I would have most certainly been fired for talking to a customer in that manner no matter the circumstance. 2. My father went down to order since I had misplaced my mask. He asked the lady at the front if he can place an order for takeout and she said very rudely and bluntly "no." My dad was a bit confused, as I had just called ahead, and when he mentioned this to the lady she said "Ok fine!, just do not expect any food anytime soon," in what my mild mannered dad describes as the sassiest voice he has ever heard. 3.I went down to pick up my food 45 minutes later. The lady at the front, who I assume is a different lady than my dad interacted with was actually kind of nice, I hope if the manager reads this he does not get mad at her. I paid 55 dollars for some kids pasta and my ravioli, how does one even have the audacity to charge that much for this alien like meal. My sister took one bite of the pasta and had to spit it out because it was as hard as a rock, she could not chew through it. I finished the disgusting ravioli (yes that stew like meal is ravioli) that looks like a mixture of fecal matter and a UFO abduction, I guess that is one reason to say the food looked out of this world. If you do not believe me and have a strong enough stomach, please look at the image below. The reason I finished it is firstly because the entire 23 dollar meal had 3 raviolis, and secondly, I hate to complain, this is the first time I have genuinely been upset enough to complain about something. The ravioli was very doughy and the outside was piping hot, while the inside was as cold as Kobe Bryant after hitting a game winner. The sauce (why does my ravioli have a stew like amount of sauce to begin with?) was sour and runny. 4. Update: 30 minutes after the meal. I have cold sweats, feel very hot, and I am shaking. With no exaggeration, I am writing this while on the toilet contemplating my life decisions as the amount of pain I am currently facing in is unbearable, while my sister is banging on the door as she is in the same boat. I don't know if this was food or a laxative, but it definitely looked and tasted like the latter. I also have some nausea, I think I may have gotten a mild case of food poisoning, not to be dramatic. PLEASE DO NOT EAT HERE. I see that the owner has responded to all the negative comments, I cannot wait to see if he has anything at all to say about this.

What an absolutely delightful evening! As locals, we had the pleasure of joining the Travel Series Singapore event—and wow, what an experience! From the moment we sat down at the beautifully set long table surrounded by a fantastic group of fellow food lovers, we knew we were in for something special. Chef Kartik truly stole the show with his engaging stories and personal anecdotes from his three-year culinary journey in Singapore. And the food? Next-level amazing! The three-course menu he crafted was a masterpiece. We’ve traveled to Singapore and across Asia, and we adore authentic Asian cuisine—but this was hands down some of the best we’ve ever tasted outside of Asia. The Laksa in particular? Absolutely sensational—layers of flavor, the perfect balance of heat, and so many thoughtful details. While the appetizer and dessert were both delicious in their own right, the Laksa completely blew us away! We were so impressed, we’ve already signed up for the Thailand and Vietnam events. Can’t wait! A big shoutout as well to Paul, our wonderfully friendly and attentive server—his service made the evening all the more enjoyable. All in all, it was the perfect midweek treat—memorable, mouthwatering, and full of good vibes.

Arrived for reservation at 6:30, got the first round of oysters as appetizers almost right away. The oysters themselves were great but did not come with vinegar, horseradish, or tobasco sauce, only came with lemon. We tried to ask for them but apparently the kitchen "had none available." Ordered main entrees 6:45 only to receive the food around 7:40. All this time the server waited the table once, had to get up and find her to get an update on our food. Do not order the $39 striped bass which in reality has a 6oz filet and practically nothing else (see photo: lobster tail was $12 extra, see fork for size reference). The chicken breast was worse than costco and the risotto was a bit too salty. The waitress had terrible service and attitude, visible passive aggression.

The restaurant is visually appealing. Nice wood highlights and relaxing ambiance. Tables are well spaced and you can tell that they have put in effort to comply with covid protocols to keep staff and patrons safe. I ordered the two river French onion burger with fries. It was visually appealing, although there was a lack of creativity in presentation. Long white plate with the burger with a pickle on top on one side and a stainless steel basket of fries on the other side of the plate. The burger was a mess. The bun was saturated (soggy to the point of oil dripping out of the bottom bun) and the onion and sauce was "glopped" on the top and bottom of the party. It tasted like burger grease. It lacked seasoning. The fries were also undercooked (not raw but I kept getting brief tastes of uncooked potato). For 20$, one would expect something a little better. For instance, a burger at Denny's or a Mcdouble at McDonald's offers both better value and taste (both are not great either). If you are craving a burger, I would suggest trying some other restaurant at Sun peaks or driving the 45 min to Kamloops (Ric's grill maybe?) or the Rayleigh pub. My wife ordered the $24 charcuterie board which was your standard charcuterie board that most places serve (my wife said it was ok...not something she would brag to her friends about and probably wouldn't order again). The front staff were excellent. The server was attentive, polite, and professional. The host was polite and friendly. I wouldn't go back based on first impressions as there are a various options at Sun peaks that offer...

I arrived at Sun Peaks after 10 hours of travel to the restaurant to learn out reservation was not ready which was fine... we were happy to wait an extra half hour with hungery children. When our table was finally ready I realized I had lost my government issued ID on my travels. I had my vaccine pastpost on my phone, 15 pieces of ID including photo ID, a husband with ID and was in the hotel that was charging my credit card (ID) as the room was in my name. The hotel was supportive and understanding as they know who I am and that I am vacinated. The hotel manager tried to encourage the restaurant to be empathetic to the loss of my pastport however the restaurant manager insisted that the resturaunt tho in the hotel were under different ownership and was not willing to accomidate me. We all know that there would be ZERO repercussion if the manager allowed me to have dinner with my family after 10 hours of travel and yet he refused. We all know that no one would walk into the restiraunt, 2 weeks before these mandates are lifted completely, and fine anyone and we all know he gains nothing by choosing to ruin my evening instead of making it amazing. My suggestion to the manager... try kindness, empathy and understanding, it will bring you more happiness, less stress and a better life. We all have bad days and how we choose to help another when they are struggling says allot about our character, it says allot about how we treat ourselves and those around us. You had a choice and you...
