A&W Canada — Restaurant in Surrey

It really hurts me to post a negative review, often I don't because everyones entitled to a bad day, but due to my experience here today I had to submit this. I ordered an Uncle burger $12.38 for the burger alone. For reference last night I had a half korean chicken from across the street that was $15 for half a chicken! I asked for my burger with no mayo. You can see from the photo it was plastered with mayo, spilling onto the tomato and cheese. The lady who took my order asked the "cook" when she grabbed the burger from the slide if it had "NO UNCLE SAUCE" which is what i believe they call their mayo. She said yes, no mayo. I walk over to my office and wham, mayo spilling onto the paper. I felt like walking back over and smearing it on the counter but instead i wiped it off, threw out the top bun and ate. The burger was lukewarm at best. The bacon was the only OK thing on this burger. Yes the beef on an uncle is the biggest thickest they serve but for $12.38 I am completely and utterly dissatisfied. Had there been no mayo I would have been ok with it. I understand inflation, I feel you, but if you expect people to pay this price at least get their order right and at a minimum have it be served hot. For reference my office is right behind this location so it did not get cold on a long walk or anything like that. Maybe with one of the coupons I saw others in line using it may have been ok but at full price, this will prevent me from returning to any A&W when i can get a freshly made smash burger at a proper place for either the same price or a dollar more. Convenience is not...

So I came here this morning and waited for my food for a bit... meanwhile there are 4 employees standing around.

Not a big deal but if I owned this place I would make sure they are actually working instead of collecting and hourly wage.

Next the utensils in particular where covered in jam or peanut butter or something like they had wiped the knives instead of actually washing them...

Then the woman at the front went through and kept offering me a different knife but the 3 that she showed me had the same issue.. she then took a paper towel and wiped one off and asked me if that I'd ok.... I have a severe peanut allergy and let's suppose there was peanut residue on the knife that I used. I might die... is it ok um no...

What a disappointment I hope the a and w franchise sells this one to someone else....

Cleanliness is sad .. I would suggest you drive further in surrey to the a and w on king George...at least there you get great service and its clean

This place sucks and the workers should...

I had to share my opinion because as a (classic canadian) I love poutine. Everytime I go to dairy queen its like they don't even know what poutine is!!! Anyways I'm beyond satisfied with the A&W food + staff great quality, great service. Thank you so much I hope some employees see this I want to say keep up the good work. :)

Dec.21/21 Just an update the A&W on 152 and highway 10 is probably still one of the best places I go for food, because the food is always good and the staff are amazing just tonight the weather is bad and it's raining I got extra napkins without asking, it's like the staff knew I needed something to wipe the water off the cars window controls, I'm continually amazed by the staff at this location and how hard they work.

Update: July.10.22 2:20am still my favorite place to get food, big thanks to A&W staff for keeping this place enjoyable I can always look forwards to a nice warm meal from here and the poutine is still great, I love the 152 st and...
