Barcelos Flame Grilled Chicken- Nordel — Restaurant in Surrey

Worst experience ever. I have ordered from this location a few times . The first time I got my meal there sauce was all over I let it go thinking it happens, Then just last week we ordered a family meal to take to the park. We pick it up and as soon as I open the brown bag everything was soaked in sauce the brown bag ripped as soon as I picked it up it all fell. 4 sauce lids all open. So I called them to complain and the girl who picked up says oh that never happens I don’t know sorry . I asked her why don’t you guys use packets she goes it’s just how it is we use containers. I said well you guys should pack it in a plastic bag she goes oh ok next time . I asked to have a manger all me two days no one called. Then I called back and few hours later a lady calls I told her my experience she goes oh it never happens I don’t know . I told her the way I was treated was very unfair and I think she should replace my meal that was all soaked in sauce . She goes I will check with my head office and call you back in half hour. 2 days later still no call back . Like are you kidding me . I will never ever go to this restaurant again. The food is good but the service 🤬 Week later So no call from the manger so I decided to call them and she kept repeating that this doesn’t happen instead of saying sorry it happened. All I wanted was a apology instead I got oh this never happens making me feel like it’s my fault . But She did offer to replace my meal...

This review is for the Barcelos on 88th and 124 street near Walmart.

When we ( my friend and I) walked into the restaurant, it looked like a decent place with a beautiful atmosphere. The menu looked almost exactly like the Nando's menu but maybe with a little more variety. When we ordered, staff was nice and the food came out really quick. Everything in the menu had pretty much the same name as the food at Nando's but instead of peri peri, it was just peri. The peri fries tasted like Indian masala with haldi ( turmeric) and were waayyyy to salty. The chicken was way to overcooked and not tender at all. Their "Barcelos sauce" tasted similar to the Nando's sauce but it was more watery, very dull, and looked disgusting. They have two side sauces called tangy lemon and very peri ( to afraid to try them because the color of them looked unappetizing). The staff didn't even come around once to ask if we needed anything or how the food was. After we finished our meal, one staff member came and asked how everything “is”... well we were already finished so we didn't see what the point of that was.... overall not a good experience and not recommended to anyone. Now that we are home, our stomachs are making weird, digesting noises..... could it be the bad food? Would rather spend a few extra dollars and eat at Nando's instead of going...

Visited this location this evening as Barcelos chicken is one of my favourites

Made the mistake of paying and adding tip when I ordered at the counter - the lady took the order dropped the food off at the table once it was done and never saw her again

Upon eating me fries I noticed a hair - I called the waitress over and told her the fries had a hair and all she said was “Oh sorry” and nothing like I can refund you the money or let me give you another order - after 10 mins she finally came by to say oh I can make you another fries - like shouldn’t that be one of the first things to offer.

Customer service here is nothing compared to the King George and 76 and the Marine way locations which I frequent regularly. Customers deserve to be treated with some attention - we weren’t even offered to get a refill on our drinks
