I came intO The Chicken World by Newton exchange bus station around 10:30 at night Still half an hour left before it closed and was given the end of the night chicken I guess it was rock hard my mother And I couldn't even eat it I'm not too sure exactly what they were thinking but I eat at this restaurant all the time and it's usually not like that It's been a few times where I've went to the other one.The other chicken world is the one that I frequent regularly,We had gotten food there and it wasn't so great and the owner sent me back to the restaurant to get my my full meal replaced. Yeah I just feel ripped off because we spent over $45.00something dollars I also gave her a $2 tip which isn't much but it's all I can afford. I'm really not impressed with the food that I was given last night and will be making a complaint today.
March 05,2024 Update!!! Thank you Chicken world I love the fact that you have customer service still and care about your customers. Your my go to chicken house, I love your chicken, my whole family does. We all go to your restaurants, cuz we love the food it's better than any other chicken place I've been too. Your a real business, you care about your customers, and really fix any problems that could happen. I appreciate you guys bigtime, thank you for caring about us the consumer. You don't see that very often anymore, alot of places could learn a thing or two when it comes to taking care of your clientele. You will be in my family's life forever!!! Thank...
Read moreI normally would never do a review but people need to know the sneaky ways this place goes about overcharging you... I ordered the burger special of the day (7.99) and asked to make it a meal (3.99) plus upgrade the fries to large (2.00) They rang it through and I paid (19.50ish) thinking it seemed a bit high so I got the receipt. I see that they charged me full price for the burger (showed as 14.99 meal on the receipt) plus there's an extra dollar for coke (didn't ask for an upgrade on that). I point this out and they explained to me that you can't get a meal combo on the special (nothing on their signage to indicate that) and the extra dollar for coke is because of carbonation (what!???). First off, no other restaurant like this does that. For example if I get a chicken burger at Triple Os on a Monday when it's 7.99, I can make it a meal and still get the discount. Second, they tell me I should have asked ahead of ordering. Really!? Ask you about something I had no way of knowing about? How about you asking me. You know I'm ordering the special of the day and making it a meal. You have nothing on you sign letting me know I can't get the discount on the burger if I do that. Why not tell me at that point "Hey, just so you know..." Anyway, I didn't make a big fuss about it. I'll just go to Mary Brown's next time where if it's Monday I can get a chicken burger for 4.99, make it meal and still get...
Read moreFound this place while doing a deep dive for some good fried chicken while visiting British Columbia and we are very glad we did!
Tried their Peri Peri Wings, Original and Spicy Fried Chicken, Arabian Rice and Rice and Spice. . .
Peri Peri Wings were excellent! Perfectly grilled, well seasoned and flavorful.
Both varieties of fried chicken were good too. Very crispy, not overly breaded or cooked too long.
Personally, I loved the Rice & Spice! Texture of rice was perfect. Not dry, not soggy, simply spot on! The flavor of the rice itself was great, too. Fragrant and aromatic, without being overpowering. The sauces on the rice and spice were unique and added a wonderful element to the dish, though I'd caution not everyone may agree with my take on the sauces.
Lastly, as we waited for our food (which can take a moment because of the continual stream of people) I was able to take a deep dive into some of the cultural references (Bollywood etc) and I found that enlightening and entertaining. I would encourage any fried chicken connoisseurs to give this place a go. The flavors were all unique, the cooking well executed and just a generally refreshing departure from the famous American acronym based chicken joint that can no longer hold a candle to even grocery store fried...
