I had the worst ever experience I could possibly expect from a restaurant. Last night I ordered Paneer Tikka, Channa Masala, Chicken Biryani and spent on food over $50. My friend Aman insisted to order from them because they are close to his house. The food arrived hot and in time. But when I opened to my suprise Channa Masala had gravy in it and a weird smelly tamrid sauce all over it. I opened chicken Biryani which looked nothing close to it. And the paneer tikka was filled with half cooked oil and peppers ( I have shared the pictured ). I told my friend as soon as I opened the food not to eat. But he was so tired and hungry - poor guy couldn't help it. He ate. This morning he woke up to diarrhea and upset stomach. I called at the restaurant at 3.16 pm to inform what had happened to be told that manager isn't at the restaurant, I asked what time she would be in. The girl on the phone told me she don't know and asked me to call back at 5. I called at 5.05 pm to be told she isn't around and call back. I called 7.27pm the girl said she isn't around and then suddenly another lady said how may I help you. She introduced herself as Maninderjeet and asked me rudely what's the matter. I explained my reason for being upset and he got really defensive that the dish with the tamrid sauce is their version of it and I should have checked the website before placing an order. That it's my fault. To my surprise she also told me that no other customers have ever complained of her food. After a full grown argument she decided to check cameras and get back to me. Here is the conversation as it happened : Maninderjeet : Sat Shri Akal Madam. I said yes, I thought she took the indication that I was not comfortable with her native language but she told me because my name is Punjabi - I MUST be ok to speak her native language ( Sorry to disappoint) no I am not that comfortable. Further, she said no mistake was made on their part. The food was absolutely ok and that I was speaking in Punjabi to show her down. The whole conversation was about food which she took to her personal ego. Madam, I have no interest in knowing why you weren't at work (she told me she is going to India). All I wanted was you to apologize for my friend's poor health after eating your disgusting food. She never once said sorry, and told me that why do I order from her place if I don't speak Punjabi - stupid lady because my friend wanted to eat Indian - you dumb lady. You ruined our time, money and your chance of apologize. Your restaurant has lost a valuable customer. I'm pretty sure you have my heard of what VLC - in business terms its value of a loyal customer. Multiply that with $50 * 12 months. Do your maths and next time, treat your customers and complaints right.
Utterly disrespectful and bdw she also hang up the phone without resolving it. But don't worry the restaurant and food inspection team will soon be at your door....
Read moreI have been a regular customer of this restaurant for past 2 years but sorry to say their customer service has gone from ok to worse. Last time I went to this restaurant with my daughter and ordered fish pakora. I paid the bill and came back after around 20 minutes for pickup. My daughter came in and she was handed prawn pakoras and when she said fish pakora, she was told we ordered prawn pakora. I went back to the shop with my daughter and told them that we ordered fish pakoras and they have given us prawn pakoras by mistake. This guy (on receipt it mentions server name as well) responds back that we ordered prawn pakoras and that they repeated the order to us and that we were wrong. I calmly told him that we ordered fish pakoras and not prawns and that we do not eat prawns. The guy responded back that now nothing can be done, since the prawns have been made and now they are going to go bad and they will have to throw it out. I just stood there looking at him because I did not believe what he just said. Ironically he was training a girl at the teller and that girl looked at me and said that they can make another one for us. I was still looking at that guy in disbelief . I just told him that he can even keep those prawns since we dont ea those and walked out of there. I did hear girl saying that we can make another one behind my back but that guy was just so adamant. When I came back home and talked to my wife about it, she was mad since she usually orders from these guys. She called back the restaurant and the same guy picked the phone and when she asked to call manager on the line, he just put her on hold. After 10 minutes or so my wife (while still on hold on landline) called them through her cell and this guy picked again right away. My wife was really mad since now she knew that this guys was not picking her phone and putting her deliberately on hold. Not sure if the owner ever came to know about it, but I just want to let him know that this guy will ruin his business if it continues that way. To be honest this is not first time I have heard about this but I am not a guy who complains that easily, but this time I felt that this guy really did not care at all. So I want everyone else to know about our experience and hopefully they will put their act together and nobody else has to...
Read moreI came to eat here and the curry tasted fine I ordered curry lamb.
I got halfway through my curry and found a thin metal wire in my food. Thankfully the wire just poked my gums and it wasn't wrapped in any sort of naan bread and made this way into my intestines. It looked like the little piece that is sometimes produced when using a can opener. I get that stuff happens and things can be overlooked in a busy kitchen.
I let my waitress know and showed her the thin wire. I was surprised that she said "oh sorry. But it's ok"
No it isn't ok.
I wasn't prepared to eat the other half of my food as I wasn't willing to take the risk. When I went to go pay for my food she charged me the full price. I told her I could not eat half my meal. She said I know it was our mistake however this is the price of our Curry. The manager eventually gave me 10% off my meal now remember I couldn't eat half of it. I understand that things happen however one should strive to make it right for their customers.
I ate here despite my father telling me a year ago that this place has bad kitchen etiquette. I guess he was right and I should have listened to him. I warn everyone else not to eat here thank you
Update
I felt off about something. I called to see if someone could describe the metal to me as I was unsure if the waitress showed anyone. The man who answered said it was a piece of steel wool from when they washed the dishes. I don't know much about industrial kitchen cleaning supplies, but this felt to hard too be that. The actual manager got on the phone with me. (The person who came and gave me 10% off was not the manager but he pretended to be) She was apologetic. However she expected me to come back and order again and would comp my meal. I see it's an effort to make it right. But I cant really see myself going back there to eat after finding bits of cleaning supplies in my food. :P I change my rating to two stars...
