Dad's Donair & Specialty Foods — Restaurant in Surrey

I went to Dad's donair yesterday, and was immediately offered their most popular dish. It was awesome. Not only was the food great but the people who run the place are as well. They wanted to share more food with me and great conversation. One of the sons of the owner sat down and spoke to me about the families history, and has so much pride in the culinary ventures of there father. Even showing me photos of him cooking in Switzerland. This family I believe said they are Iraqi, and had fled wars, traveled allover trying to find their home. I am so glad they found their way to Canada. Their dedication to the work of their father and his own experience show in the food they serve. So if you have the chance to eat here, leave any bias you have at the door and be open for a great conversation with amazing people. And the food is great aswell. This place has the best customer service, the people working there were very kind to me and we had a genuine, engaging conversation while waiting for my order to come out — which was also very efficient. I was also pretty happy that they had more unique flavours of soda (I got the pineapple Fanta which I usually never see so I always get it when I see it). As for the food, the chicken was very soft and all the flavours (sauces + chicken + potato + rice) really complemented each other; I kept going back for another bite without stop because of how good it tasted. My only criticism is that potato wedges could be a liiittle bit crunchier, but to be honest I didn’t mind this much since I always took a bite of all the components in one spoonful anyways, so the little bit of crunch that the potato had mostly sufficed.

I recently visited Dads Donair, and I can’t say enough good things about it! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a perfect blend of elegance and comfort.

The staff was incredibly attentive and friendly, making sure every detail was taken care of without being intrusive. They were knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations.

Speaking of the menu, the food was absolutely exceptional. I ordered Chicken Donair plate and it was bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection, and beautifully presented. The ingredients were fresh, and you could tell a lot of care went into every dish.
