Really disappointing experience with the store manager
I took a while to write this review, but the more I think about what happened, the more convinced I am that I shouldn’t stay silent and should report this.
I went in to buy a drink. The young guy at the register was very friendly but clearly new. I asked if he could please serve my drink in one of those reusable cups. He had trouble finding it in the system, so he asked a coworker how to ring it in.
This coworker came over with a very rude attitude. Without looking at me or acknowledging me at all, she told him: “You have to ring in the cup and also the straw.” I immediately said, “No, I don’t want an extra straw.” She replied rudely, “That’s how it has to be.” I said, “I’m pretty sure that’s not right — it says cup with straw, plus an extra straw.” She didn’t answer and just walked away. The guy ended up charging me for the drink, the cup, and the straw. At that point, I still didn’t realize how bad her attitude really was.
When I went over to the hand-off area to wait for my drink, I asked her, “Are you the manager?” She said yes — again, with a horrible attitude. I told her I was sure they had charged me wrong, that it says cup with straw and then extra straw. Her tone immediately shifted from rude to even ruder, and with condescension she said: “If we’re wrong, I’ll give you a refund — I don’t want to take a dollar from you. For us it’s just a dollar, apparently for you it matters a lot.” At that moment I realized she was just being mean on purpose. I replied, “I wouldn’t care if it was ten cents — if it needs to be paid, I’ll gladly pay it. But here you’re the one who’s wrong.”
She asked to see the receipt, saw that I was right, and told the guy to refund the straw. Then I asked for her name so I could report her to customer service, and she refused, saying it wasn’t their policy to give her name. I told her actually she should be wearing a name tag. From that moment on, she deliberately avoided looking at me and completely ignored me as if I didn’t exist.
Of course I brought this up to customer service through chat because I found it totally inappropriate that the manager would act with such entitlement. In fact they should show their names, I found out. I don’t know if she treated me this way because of racism or what, but I left with a very, very bad taste in my mouth. Please do something about this —...
Read moreShift manager Amanda is pretty unprofessional and so is one of the Baristas there. Been going there for over 5 years almost on a daily basis . She is a new face and don’t know her name . Most of the other staff is professional friendly and polite . Bean, Mary, Lamar are all awesome . Disappointed that one person and that too someone who calls herself a shift manager can cause the entire store a negative outlook. This review is also for the management to evaluate training needs for their staff and ascertain the level of service provided to its patrons.
When a supervisor asks a customer to escalate an issue to their District Manager, it speaks a lot about their own ability for conflict resolution ( one of the key components for a supervisor position) Also this is the only Starbucks in the world where a shift manager refused to serve a customer only because the customer gave a feedback about that Barista’s unprofessional attitude and a request to be served by someone else.
I hope this review gets noticed by the leadership and I will be happy to elaborate the whole account of events...
Read moreAbsolutely one of the worst Starbucks experiences I’ve had. I waited at the till with zero acknowledgement while the baristas chatted behind the bar. When someone finally came to take my order, I asked for a pike with oat milk, two waters (one with ice and one without ice), and a sandwich. When I was given my coffee I realized the barista forgot to put the oat milk in and I had to go back up to the till to get my order fixed. Then, there was another error with my water which both had ice in it when I specifically asked at the till for one to have no ice. Until this point, it was okay as I understand that mistakes happen. However, things got even worse, I watched my sandwich sit beside the oven while I waited at the hand-off plane. The barista brought down a few bags of food (including the sandwich I ordered) and left everything at the mobile station without calling out the names of the order. Keep in mind, I had ordered my sandwich in the cafe. None of the workers seemed to care and nobody tried to make things...
