I recently had the pleasure of dining at an extraordinary restaurant that left my taste buds dancing with delight – an excellent place for Parathas and Baturey. From the moment we stepped in, it was evident that we were in for a culinary treat. Our experience at this restaurant was nothing short of fantastic, and I can't wait to share it with you.
Our group had heard glowing recommendations about this place, and it certainly lived up to the hype. We decided to explore a variety of dishes to get a well-rounded taste of their offerings.
To start, we ordered their signature Choley Baturey. The fluffy, golden-brown batureys were an absolute delight. They were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, a perfect complement to the rich and flavorful choley. The combination was heavenly, and we couldn't get enough of it.
Moving on to the parathas, we sampled a range of flavors, each more delicious than the last. The Mooli Paratha had a perfect balance of spiciness and the freshness of radishes. The Gobi Paratha was loaded with fragrant cauliflower and spices, making it a delightful choice. The Paneer Paratha, filled with creamy cottage cheese, was a true indulgence.
What made the meal even more memorable was the outstanding pickle they served. It was an explosion of flavors – tangy, spicy, and slightly sweet. Each bite was a rollercoaster of tastes that paired beautifully with the parathas.
To cleanse our palates, we were served a sweet and creamy dahi (yogurt) that was a refreshing contrast to the spiciness of the parathas. It provided a perfect balance to our meal.
The service at this restaurant was top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. They guided us through the various options and ensured that our dining experience was exceptional.
In conclusion, if you're a Paratha enthusiast, this restaurant is a must-visit. The Choley Baturey, Mooli Paratha, Gobi Paratha, and Paneer Paratha are all outstanding choices. The pickle and dahi add extra layers of flavor to the experience. With excellent service to top it off, you'll leave with a smile on your face and a satisfied stomach. We loved every moment of our meal here, and we can't wait to return. This restaurant has certainly earned its place as the go-to spot for Parathas and...
Read moreI waited so long to try Indian food at Jagga’s. The place has a very cherished environment. On of a few restaurant in Vancouver-surrey area that meets up the Indian food expectations. At Jagga’s I found many things that took my interest like the decor, the cleanliness, the arrangement, the music, the lighting and the efforts to make up a comfortable service. It was quite surprising that they had a button on the table, incase we need any help from staff. Coming to food, the menu card was quite appealing , it welcomes you with the love towards India and bond between friends, family and food. With these beautiful thoughts in mind I ordered Amritsari Kulcha (my hometown specialty)and chai. It took nearly about 15 minutes to get it and i think its a genuine time. The plate was fully loaded with really good portions of main and side dishes. Overall it was good experience having it . But I really suggest some research over the dish. The traditional kulcha is more on the crispier side and this was like a soft naan. Chane were good in taste but really could be given a next level taste. The only thing disappointed me more than anything else was the side dish- curd? In a noway curd goes with this dish and instead the watery tamarind chutney was missing that is one & only side dish with kulcha. Sorry for giving a whole lecture on the dish because I feel these little efforts will bring a difference in real. Moreover Jagga’s is the only restaurant I see that has “Junoon” or we say right passion to be the new successful definition of Food, specially Indian food. My next visit is gonna be too soon and this time I would like to meet the man behind the regular innovations and too...
Read moreBeware! Samosas greasy took too long maybe 25 minutes , not mild as promised super burning hot, samosas, over powdery tasting white burfi,
Very nice renovated and high end looking inside restaurant on right side still under construction, sweet shop left side separated attendants. No take out menus long lineup came highly recommended.
I went to find all of the above true. Ordered takeout: samosas as mains, jalebis 1 lb ( snack to have around, yes they dont use metricz weird) and burfi as dessert, specifically said I've mixed guests ie Indian and Caucasian asked that the samosas be mild and not hot the girls assured me they wouldn't be spicy as in hot, spoke to what seemed to be owner and owners wife, very lovley people he said restaurant will be only 100 percent veggie in area.
Got home, the samosas were scalding hot bag covered in oil, not the fancy thin pasty samosas I expect from a high end establishment with plenty of peas,
rather these were the bulk meat pie thick white dough into a cone with end crimped by folding over and table spoon of mostly potatoes. Well I'd bought it so took a bite. Before I could my non Indian guest's mouth's we're already on fire.
I took a bite and got one that was very hot before I knew it my Indian guests complain thier mouths are also on fire. Fantastic! I thought maybe it was the chutney, nope both samosas and chutney. In the garbage they went.
Made tea, everyone was very impressed with the jalebis fresh crispy and tasty, the burfi no one liked, not even I :( this place needs to renovate it's menu/recipes and realise that burning hot is not akin to spicy hot. I'll...
