Maguroguy Sushi & Grill Asian Cuisine — Restaurant in Surrey

So far so good it is a bit busy for a Tuesday I guess. I've given it a 3 star rating based on experience at the door and overall look to the place I am eating alone so they sat me at the bar. The prices are moderate and I have order a large bill service is a little slow, not very accommodating. They only serve imported beer and the small sake was well in my experience very small this place so far is average at best but the smell of the place is very good the aroma of food is tantilizing. I look forward to my meal I order basics as well as a few different items I told them all at once and as I write this my first plate arrives within 25 mins of my order so not bad but I won't eat till every thing is in front of me. I just met someone at the bar who is a frequent of this establishment he says he is happy with the food a restaurant Man like myself of 17.5 years and he enjoys the food and as it comes out I must say it does look exquisite my judgement is will I bring a date here will a tell my mother and so far I must it looks good I think I have one or two more items to arrive before I dig in to this delectable meal so here's to patients . With that my order is complete so what's left is to taste. So after finishing my meal and getting my bill I am happy I spent 45.10$ (I try not to spend more then 50$) I must say I am full and I am happy I order a small house sake 5$, ika Yaki 7.95$, Tako sunomono 4.50$ assortment sushi 11.95$, miso soup 1.50$, steamed rice 1.50$, Alaskan roll 3.50$, Asahi beer 6.00$ the food was fresh and clean. Would I bring a date here no but I would bring my girlfriend and friends definitely not something to write home about it was average to above average. I was happy with the result much like a draw in football (soccer) I've had other sushi in the White Rock area that is better but I am not disappointed overall I would say out of 5s 3 on the service I felt it could have been better 2 on the ambient atmosphere I feel that sushi should have a disincentive feel (take me away too old japan) the food was good 3.7 and the price was moderate to the portion size 3.5. Happy and full good qualities to take away I hope this review servers you well and to those who are looking to try sushi for this first time this is a place you shouldn't be afraid of. Used to be a decent sushi restaurant. But somehow over the past weeks they are going downhill, especially the service.

I usually ordered here for to-go over a few years and starting from past few months, i always have some issue with my order. Either they forgot some dishes i order or my usuals tastes totally different someday. Hope you guys fix this problem and try to be constant with the menu. However, these problems are just some tedious things but the real problem comes here.

I visited here with my client last week and we had hard time ordering. Seems like the owner work as a waitress and I do understand English may not be her first language but she sounds very tired and rude. And i had to repeat and confirm our order multiple times to make sure she understood our order correctly and still she forgot to bring things that we asked. No passion at all when we ask questions about some menus we asked. If you are running a business, please learn how to treat customers.....

Phenomenal first experience here. We arrived at 9:15PM on a friday night; a little busy and 15 minutes till last call.

My girlfriend has a gluten sensitivity and they were super accomodating - gluten free soy sauce is available here. We ordered the Agedashi Tofu, (the sauce is not gluten free but the tofu is fried in a corn based batter) and just had them serve the sauce seperate.

Everything tasted delicious, we ordered promptly and picked out a few more rolls. For the gluten sensitive the Ebi roll or the Avocucumber roll work really well because they don't have imitation crab. The prices are really good, 26$ for two people with two rolls and an appy each.

We had multiple waitresses who would often check in with us, also we were served an extra roll on the house; this brought the dining experience to the next level where we really felt valued as customers.
