Phở Sunrise — Restaurant in Surrey

Super reliable, consistent, and delicious Phø restaurant. I have been going here for years and it's definitely an inviting place for regulars, fast or slow eats, family, friends, or solo for a hungry meal. It's not a pretentious place, family-owned I believe, and the servers are kind and have been there since opening (assumed family).

Overall gets a 5 because of what the food is and what it's worth, food gets 5 star, service gets a 4, not because service is not good but because it's not a place that represents an impressive concierge service , and the atmosphere gets a 4 because it is simply casual (which I like) but it was not made to wow a critic or to impress your In-laws (unless they're coupon mamas from Asia, in which they might be taken aback by your taste in the balance of your food and wallet).

This place has been around for a while so I thought I’d give it a try. Service was quick and friendly, but the Pho was quite bland and did not have a lot of flavour. There are better places in the area.

I like to read the comments before going to a restaurant to see if I can confirm what others have experienced and I just have to comment on what another person had said.

This person said she got food poisoning from this place due to the beef being too raw. This is the dumbest thing I’ve read today and here’s why:

1. It is supposed to be served raw!
2. You decided to eat it raw rather than let it cook in the soup
3. It is perfectly safe to eat raw beef as long as it is fresh
4. If you got food poisoning it wasn’t from the beef being “too raw”, it is because it was either bad or something else you ate that was bad

Please think before...

Excellent pho! Very tasty umami broth with a refreshing finish thanks to just a touch of cilantro. You can tell they use real beef bones. The beef quality in the #13 is wonderful and delicious without being too fatty like some other places. Really satisfying iced coffees that are not too bitter or too sweet - just perfection! Yummy salad rolls with peanut sauce as well - the lettuce is always crisp inside. I have also enjoyed their avocado smoothie drink during summer time. This is my favorite pho restaurant in the lower mainland that my friend introduced me to last Spring and now I try to frequent it at least once per week. I drive from Langley to eat here.
