I was craving for bubble tea, specifically milk tea, and found this little gem in Surrey! Came to O My Tea Cafe for the first time on a quiet Monday night but it was rapidly busy after we came in. I wanted a milk tea that complimented grass jelly and tofu pudding together and the kind owner suggested I get the Japanese roasted milk tea. I was in love with their hand made tofu! What a great mixture of flavors, not overwhelmed with sugar and the sweetness is pleasantly subtle with the roasted milk tea. Definitely tasted healthier than most of the bubble teas I've had. The second bubble tea is a popular one called cappuccino slush topped up with pearls and whipped cream. What a great dessert for after a meal like today!
For food I ordered the beef ramen, their hand made pot stickers, Takoyaki and salty-peppery gluten free chicken nuggets. The ramen is a must try for first timers! The beef was my favorite as it was thinly cut with equal parts of meat and fat, creating such a nice aromatic taste to the hot ramen broth. The soup was also accompanied with salted egg, corn, fish and shrimp cakes, and vegetables. A delight in each spoonful.
The appetizers were great as they were fresh and home made. The potstickers definitely tasted the most home made as they make the dough themselves, a healthy alternative to most fast food bubble tea restaurants. The Takoyaki was very satisfying, as well as the gluten free chicken nuggets made from chicken breast. I like how it wasn't overly salted so you could enjoy the meal without feeling too overwhelmed.
I didn't have room for their newly added "Shabu Shabu" hot pot on their menu, but with the quality of beef I just had in their ramen, I know it's going to be a great experience to try out for our next visit! They have cute candied lollipops from Japan so I had to get a bunch home for later š if you're in during lunch time, a popular to-go dish is their shake-shake chicken with garlic salt or parmesan cheese accompanied with fries in a brown bag made for students during lunch time or those on a lunch rush.
Overall, I was very surprised let alone impressed with the quality in food and bubble tea from this family owned and operated bubble tea cafe. The service was incredibly nice, welcoming and personable. Thank you O My Tea for a memorable time for dinner tonight. Will come back to try the Shabu...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreGreat drinks but the owner is the rudest person I've ever dealt with. I've had a negative experience with a courier service. He spilled my order because the bag wasn't TIED properly (this is O My Tea Cafe's fault) but he just left, leaving a mess at my front door. So I phoned this place wanting some contact information about the driver. Although I was not upset at O My Tea Cafe, the owner immediately screamed at me, saying that she had to wait 30 minutes for the driver to arrive. Okay, all I wanted to know was if she had some contact information about the driver. I do not understand why she had to vent her anger at me because she "had to wait 30 minutes" for the courier. I do not work for the courier service; I'm just a customer who just wanted some contact information. I will never order from this place again, all thanks to the rude owner.
EDIT: The driver dropped my order because O My Tea Cafe did a poor job at tying the bag, so it wasn't entirely his fault. However, I was not angry at O My Tea Cafe and just asked if they had his contact information. All the owner had to tell me was that she didn't, and not yell at me to contact the courier instead. It's ironic how she sounded very upset that she had to wait 30 minutes for the driver while she yelled at me to talk to the courier about the experience I had. Just like you said, SKIP is the delivery company, so you should have been angry at them, and not at me, who is only a customer. And yes, after you yelled at me to talk to the courier, I did and I was very satisfied with the help I got, as they were very professional about it, unlike O...

We stopped by for lunch on a Sunday. It was really quiet and slow (we were the only customers dining in). We ordered pork ramen , pot stickers, spring rolls, takoyaki, and 2 milk tea bbts.
If you've ever shopped at a T&T or equiv you'd be familiar with the food presented and be aware of the cost to make your own to what you got. Presentation and quantity of the food? Top marks, everything looked amazing but once you get a taste you are flushed with massive disappointment.
At $10 for a bowl of ramen you'd expect middle grade of a typical ramen joint. However aside from ingredients that you get from a trip down the freezer aisle and a pack of watered down instant noodles there's nothing to see here. I also had hair in my ramen which I did not raise as a concern giving the place the benefit of the doubt that they could redeem themselves. But i was very quickly disappointed.
Would highly not recommend this place unless you're stopping by for bubble waffle (cause you can't mess that up - or can you?) Saw a few comments that this place is better than places you'd find in Richmond - that is highly incorrect. Every place in Richmond is better than here even at the most avg place. The food court quality would be rated higher than...
