Shahi Catering — Restaurant in Surrey

This place doesn't even deserve a 1 star. Owner is super rude. We had a party at the banquet hall upstairs awhile ago! He told us he had a fixed rate of $2600 including DJ, bartender & food. We told him 130 people will be there he said ok. The day of the party we got there & there was only seating for 98 seats set up ( 4 of the tables were broken so they weren't set up) each table had 8 chairs but only 4 tea cups & water glasses. The serves were not so helpful. The owner wasn't even there to help us. They also didn't even have enough plastic glasses to serve alcohol; They ran out, Which was extremely embarrassing; we had asked the girls nicely to get us some more glasses; apparently they didn't have anymore, then someone got some from Walmart: very unorganized and rude. Next day we went to pay the remaining balance & he demanded an extra $500 because we apparently had 20 extra people. We had invite less then 120 people so not sure how he thinks we had an extra 20 people when he wasn't even there - half our guest had to stand because of his broken tables - which he could have rented or told us so we could have rented so our guest could have seating - We booked this place thinking the service would be good, put I was so wrong - worse experience ever, really ruined our party! My husband and I recently had our Reception party at Shahi Catering Banquet Hall, and words cannot express how amazing everything came out to be! From the generosity of the owner, his fun charismatic personality to his employees that worked the event, we were impressed! We've both been to plenty of hall parties and never had an experience as such. The owner, Kulwinder was amazing to work with us for timing and providing great suggestions to the menu we had chosen, he was patient, understanding and helpful with everything! The food ,oh my! It was off the charts! We cannot describe in words that even exist as to how good the menu was! From the appetizers starting with the gigantic garlic butter prawns, to the dinner menu, my husband and I along with our wedding guests were simply mind-blown! Everything was just delicious, we've been to plenty of hall parties and never hear guests call or rave about food, but we had the most impressed guests, till this day they cannot forget those gigantic garlic butter prawns! I called them for an order. The lady said I get two naan included with large chili chicken. Then I asked for delivery. She said for that we can use Uber. We placed the Uber order.. but when it came we didn’t get the free naan. I called them back and another lady picked up.. she said she was sorry but they don’t give any naan with Uber orders… just pick up orders.. all she offered was her apology… this is very bad customer service. The chili chicken itself was tasty but very spicy. Online they didn’t ask what heat we wanted. From the taste it was HOT.. not medium which might be a standard and also something I am accustomed to since they don’t ask how hot you want it on Uber. Overall am once again disappointed with this place.. They make mistakes but never offer to do anything for the customer… this is the second time … last time I went and picked up an order just to come home and find out I got chili paneer instead of chili chicken.. again they apologized and said they had two orders that were similar and got switched.. got to find...
