Payal Business Centre — Local services in Surrey

Made the long (90 minutes) transit trip to Payal Centre to Kerrisdale. I was hoping to find an Indian cotton shirt, enjoy some Indian food and generally explore an area I've never visited before.

It was easy to get there, as the 323 Newton Exchange bus from Surrey Centre skytrain station stops across the street. I expected a standard mall, meaning a building of two or three floors with shops inside, but this is a confusing area of parking lot and stores facing the parking lot. No indoor mall or shops. Not even a public washroom!

We saw only a small portion of it because it involves too much walking in a maze of various sections. Very easy to get lost, with no signs showing a list of shops and where they could be find. It's clearly aimed at drivers who no doubt know where they're going and drive right to their destination and park in front. As we were on foot it was easy to be confused and get tired from all the walking.

The clothing stores (the ones we saw) ALL sold the same thing. Looks like they provide beautiful wedding outfits (or similar), gorgeous beaded and embroidered sarees and lahenga and accessories. Loads of gold jewellery. We could not find a shop selling casual ladies clothing, which was disappointing. Not saying it's not there, but we couldn't find it and, after telling people what we were looking for, they did not offer any suggestions of such a shop at Payal.

The highlight of our visit to Payal Centre was lunch at Navraj Sweets and Restaurant. Absolutely 5/5 lunch special that we thoroughly enjoyed. We might go out there again just for the food.

Although we enjoyed our adventure, it's clear that Payal Centre caters to cars, not pedestrians. Be prepared to walk an awful lot if you want to...

Nothing changes and your website doesn't work properly for "contact us" brings up an error when sending a message:

Yesterday visited as my wife needed to buy something. The way the traffic flow is set up it's an accident waiting to happen and it's actually hard to park.

Pedestrians don't move when vehicles are moving (Pedestrians are to the side but still close to moving vehicles) and/or doing what they do in India just walk through traffic as it's coming knowing vehicles will stop.

Poor cleanliness noted in the parking lot.

When leaving the centre, poorly flowing set-up with pedestrians just doing their own thing and a traffic light all of a sudden just appears.

What is the point of coming to such a location where it creates additional stress.

I am sending this last note and other issues I come across in the future, I will go directly to the media about. On April 3 my family went to the Payal Business Centre located at around 81 Avenue and 128 Street, Surrey at 2 30 pm or so. Poorly coordinated traffic flow within the parking lot with aggressive drivers & an accident eaiting to happen. When I left the parking lot, even though there is 1 lane to leave, the white coloured pick up truck behind me tried to overtake me on my right. Once out of the parking lot, there is a crosswalk and traffic light right above. Why in the world would there be a crosswalk and light set up like that when one can't even...

Payal Business Center is located at 128th Street & 82nd Ave in Surrey. It has more than 300 stores and shops all of which are Asian based, particularly India and Pakistan based. For the shoppers, Payal Business Center is very convenient both value and convenience wise.

Basically, Payal Business Center is a set of 6-7 plazas in one area of Canada and it consists of more than 300 shops or stores. The stores over here sell Indian and Pakistani stuff and services. The plaza here also consists of restaurants, banquets, clothing stores and other related services. The shops and stores here include offices, restaurants, grocery stores, dental clinics, finance services, health studios, salons service and repair shops, wedding décor services, jewelry shops, printing and Xerox shops, pharmacies, normal health clinics and much more. Locally, Payal Business Center is also known as Mini Punjab because of the Indian feel that it gives. Also, the consumers can get anything and everything India-based that want over here.
