Unprofessional customer service and long waits: I have gone to this location twice so far and both times and was not happy. The first time was in a drive through where I waited 10 minutes for my Americano. The 2nd time, I walked into the store and lined up to order my drink. A barista name Shari (as per her name tag) takes my order then asks me about my name. I advised her that she does not need my name. Instead of accepting my answer and ringing my order and so that I can pay, she proceeds in engaging in an argument with me in front of other customers who are lined up behind me. She starts advising me that she needs my name and I repeated my self that she does not need my name for the drink. She then goes to say that she needs my name so that I can find my drink in which I responded by saying that "I am sure that I'll get my drink". What was surprising is that she continued to ask for my name and I said no. Then she finally gave up by saying "ok i'll stop bugging you". She then took my order and I paid for it. This barista did cross the line. Her conduct was unprofessional and inappropriate. It is possible that she may not have been aware of what she was doing, but she engaged in harassing behavior that is unacceptable. I never had any issues like this with Starbucks until yesterday. She seemed to be a young barista, so lack of proper training may have played a role. If a customer does not want to provide their name, then you just take the order and call it out when it is ready to be picked up. There is no reason to act like that. I felt the necessity to make this matter public as this incident serves as a learning opportunity for this location and its staff. I have already contacted Starbucks head office about this incident and they assured me that the location manager will contact me (we will see if that happens). Myself, like everyone else, as clients, whether it is at starbucks or any other merchant, expect not to only get the product that you pay for, but also with professional and appropriate customer service, which was very lacking here. I intend of making this incident a public record by contact the BBB. Not only that, but I will be opening a file with Consumer Protection BC about this incident. This is because the more people step forward and escalate matters like this, the more likely that you would...
Read moreThe Starbucks has become a glorified McDonald’s or even worse Time Hortons. I have to be honest I’m not much of a complainer. If you look at my Google reviews, they’re all positive. I’ve been living in Clayton Heights for close to eight years. This Starbucks was never like this before. It was managed by the right team. I always got my order and in efficient time. It was always correct and I never had any issues. Now I can’t count how many times I’ve gone through their drive-through here and they’ve forgotten to either put sugar, cream or they filled my cup up so full that it’s spewing all over my car. Pretty basic stuff as you are a coffee establishment. I have a cappuccino maker at home and the reason that I go to Starbucks is because I don’t either have run out of cream or I’m out of coffee. So if I’m going to Starbucks and I order a coffee and I drive home and there’s no cream in it what good are you doing me? And then charging me copeous amounts for it. Maybe they should have the manager of the store in cloverdale come do training because that store is fabulous! I actually go there to get my coffee fixed from this location. Maybe not as busy of a location but at least they get it right. Like I said, I don’t complain, but I actually phoned and asked to speak to the manager because this has happened so many times as I really just wanted to give some constructive criticism and I was very polite about it. I told her when people get a coffee, they don’t want it spilling all over the car and I also want a coffee with cream in it if I’m driving all the way to you to get that. She was very understanding and very helpful but here we go again it’s never correct. I decided I’m gonna give one more chance. I do drive in ask for my thing to be double toasted. It’s not double toasted. I asked them for coffee they give me a pour over they don’t tell me it’s a pour over and then they fill my coffee to the rim so that it’s spilling everywhere. Note the photos I won’t be going here anymore. I’m tired of the crappy service and I mean that in the nicest way.
The only reason I continued to come here is they have a drive in and I don’t feel like looking like crap and facing people early morning.
What am I paying premium...
Read moreStopped by here randomly, expecting some decent drinks. Didn't happen.
The girl at the register was friendly and the order was quickly placed. But the wait was rather lengthy, and it didn't seem that busy. A moderate flow of people through drive-thru and four people waiting for drinks in the lobby, somehow I got 1/2 of my drinks before them, which was rather odd. Orders are suppose to be sequential not random or easiest first.
After about 10-15 minutes I got my 2/2 drink, which was the same as another customers to my surprise, both drinks were the same yet one was way darker than the other presumably one was watered down more, the awareness of the staff in this situation was simply terrible, how do you know you made a drink right if you don't look at it or pay attention? I understand staff get used to making drinks and it becomes just a mind-numbing repeating process, but at least notice obvious flaws in drinks that are exactly the same...
At the same time, it appeared that the lobby was not cleaned in a while. Chairs and tables were pushed against the seats on the wall, the lids and other accessories table was messy and the garbage not taken out.
I understand a place like this gets busy, I worked at Tim Hortons a couple years and we always made time to clean and keep things right, busy or not.
Pros: Girl at the cash was efficient & nice
Cons: Orders fulfilled randomly rather than sequentially ^ Serving someone who just ordered first than others who already ordered is a big NO. Careless QC for drinks Lobby was a mess, for a nice looking building.
All in all, maybe everyone there was having a bad day, or they're so used to their job they just became sloppy and careless shrug. Either way It was clearly the wrong day to goto Starbucks for me :/ maybe next time...
