Sharing this experience in hopes that management handles this situation better in the future.
Myself and a handful of other customers were waiting at least 15 minutes in line to pay due to their iPad point of sale having technical issues. After attempting a card payment numerous times, staff stated the wifi is down and that they can accept cash payments of the exact change only. Letting them know that I don’t have cash on hand, the staff member gave a quick apology and offered that they’ll hold it for when I return with cash. Being on my work break and having used up half of it waiting to pay, I declined.
With a sign clearly posted of “cashless payments only” and the inconvenience that was caused for the delay, it was disappointing and embarrassing as a customer to hand back the already prepared bowl of food after the long wait without acknowledgment for the inconvenience experienced.
I visit this location regularly, food is always great and the staff are extremely friendly. However I do wish that management gave better direction to the staff on how to handle this situation. Wifi connections are not always reliable so perhaps a protocol will be put into place when wifi is down again in the future and cashless payments can’t be accepted. Another concern is the unnecessary waste - the amount of prepared poke bowls that I’m assuming were discarded afterwards when the other customers waiting in line didn’t exact...
Read moreI had such a frustrating experience with a server named Alice. I was waiting in front of your store for some time because there wasn’t anybody behind the counter. Then she came and from the moment she started taking my order, she seemed impatient, like she didn’t even want to deal with me. She rushed through the questions saying tuna or salmon, hot or not then asked what veggies I wanted. I told her to just put everything, but she threw it all together so fast it was obvious she was not in the mood. She didn’t even bother to ask what sauce I wanted.
When she put the lid on my bowl, a piece of vegetable was hanging fron the side. I pointed it out to her but she ignored me and still forced the cover on. I had to take the cover off myself and put the thing in with my finger just to fix it. She handed me chopsticks and my change, then walked inside and left me there. I actually wanted a spoon also but I had to call her back because she just disappeared. Honestly, the way she acted made me feel like I was bothering her by simply ordering food. What made it worse was she wasn’t even wearing a hair net, a name tag and her attitude the whole time was just plain rude. I walked away feeling really upset instead of looking forward to enjoying my food. I still can’t forget her impatience and the way I...
Read moreThe food was overall good, though I did find the seafood at the Guildford location to be noticeably fresher.
We ordered two mini bowls without any extra toppings, but I later noticed we were charged an additional $1.80 for one of them. I recommend that anyone visiting this location double-check their bill before paying.
When I returned to speak with the staff, one of the girls said my friend had added onions—which wasn’t the case. Her bowl only had wakame, edamame, and cucumber. Mine had cucumber, wakame, and corn. No extra toppings were added to either bowl.
She brought over another staff member (possibly the supervisor), and I explained the situation again. We even brought the bowl over to show that no extra toppings were included.
We were asked if we’d like extra toppings instead of a refund, but since we didn’t want anything else, we declined. In the end, the order was corrected, we received a refund for the overcharge, and they also applied a 10% discount, which was...
