I visit the store, coming to sort my magic cards and find people to talk Magic to, like I'd done multiple times before without any incident or any indication that i was unwelcome. One of the customers said a really stupid generalizing comment about all women, in a completely straight-faced way, about why "Women don't play Yu-Gi-Oh", loud enough for the whole of the store to hear. As a woman who exists and was working on a deck for magic at the time, who also plays Yu-Gi-Oh, I joked that comment was sexist, in a non-serious and unantagonistic manner. I was immediately forced to pack my things and leave by one of the younger employees there for "starting **", being told I was permanately banned from the store. I asked why he isn't leaving when that same guy was yelling at some of the other people near him. I asked some of the people I knew there what they thought of me kicked out, and the same employee immediately threated to have mall security called to force me out when I tried to talk even briefly with people who I had played games with and become friends with.
Was my joke in poor taste? Maybe. Maybe I even somehow misunderstood what the guy was yelling, and maybe it was unfair for me to even jokingly call what he said sexist. Stranger things have happened. But is it really enough to get me immediately permanently banned from the store, after having paid hundreds of dollars in magic gear over the month I had been frequenting it, with exactly zero warning and with the immediate threat of force when I question...
Read moreI first discovered Craving for a game about 3 years ago when i worked in the building. My friends got me into Magic the gathering. Then I came to my senses and rediscovered board games. With a little help from "Table Top" and an unmeasurable amount from the owner Buck I couldn't be happier. He knows his stuff and enjoys sharing it. The excitement and enthusiasm he puts into describing a game to you is amazing. My only complaint is not having enough money to buy everything he and his staff suggest. Nick is just as helpful. I've been to other stores but always come back to Craving because it feels like home. Every game they have recommended have been a hit with my girlfriend and I. My Magic group is even wanting in on the games we talk about. If you are a gaming addict or just a casual player this is the place you need to be. I just can't say enough good things about Buck, Nick and the store. I send everyone thats getting into the hobby there. There's so many games, a huge selection of store copies to try before you buy. Go there right now. You will not be...
Read moreThis is the best Board Games store I have ever been in... especially since it moved locations in the mall to a larger space. The owner is amazing... he always takes the time to see what you are looking for and reccomend something for you from the thousands and thousands of games he has in the store... seriously if you can think of a game he probably stocks it or will order it in for you! He also knows the rules or overviews of most the games he has and will gladly walk you through a game or teach you the rules of one of the "try before you buy" games (there are almost as many open box games you can sit and play there in the store as games he has for sale!!! This place is amazing! There are always collectible card game tournaments going on and always room for a bit of board gaming in the store too... so stop by and check out this...
