We wanted to try this place out as were within walking distance of this place and drive past it every day.
Super long day where we just wanted to wind down with some good food. Started out good. Probably the best Long Island I’ve ever had actually. Unfortunately that’s where it ended.
We ordered Mac n Cheese bites as an appy, and a Poke Bowl (no ginger) and Philly Cheesesteak (no Mayo) and that was that.
We wait about 20-25 mins for our mains to arrive, and have to remind the waitress that we ordered an appy and she apologized as she forgot to buzz it in. Oh well all good.. we aren’t difficult we can eat them when they come.
Then we begin to eat and realize my partner still has ginger on her Poke bowl and I still have mayo on my sandwich. Unfortunately the sandwich is made in such a way that you won’t know what you’re biting into for a few bites. I’m also allergic to raw egg that’s in mayo, and I ate basically half the sandwich thinking the weird taste was the jam they put in the sandwich until I see what is clearly mayo.
Waitress comes over and apologies and says to mention if my allergies get bad. I haven’t been exposed in years so I have no idea what my body is going to do. So I start having anxiety that I was going to break out in hives so I ask for the bill.
I was expected to pay for the Philly that has made my upper body fill up with hives. I couldn’t believe it.
So on top of what is probably the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in years, I had to ASK to have my sandwich that’s ruined my entire night to be taken off the bill.
I wanted to really enjoy this place but I can’t wrap my head around having to pay to break out in hives. Brutal.
Good Long Island though if you’re going...
Read moreIt was a Good Friday evening, we were a group of 4 women just want to chill and get some food with good wine. Start off was good with a very chatty server where she knows how to take care of her customers but right after we order food they switch our server with a very nice young quiet girl. We ordered a bottle of white, tons of food (Tataki tuna salad, buffalo wings, ribs, chicken quesadilla, chicken pot pie with onions ring as a side, chicken Cesar salad with deep fried Avocado) honestly, I understand pub food normally is a bit saltier than a regular food but most everything was salty (except salad part) !!! Onion ring was undercook but the outside was almost burnt. We told the server that our onions ring was really hard then a gentleman walked over and ask what’s wrong with the onion’s ring. One of my friend said it’s hard so I said it’s like undercook. My friends asked for an ice-cream instead of any other side as everything was quite salty. We were deciding if we want to stay for another bottle of wine but I was watching the gentle speaking to another person (he must be another manager) and pointing at our table where I sat face them and that makes me feel a bit uncomfortable that we complain about onions ring and If you gonna talk about your customer at least take it else where, where they can’t see you or obvious enough that make them uncomfortable and want to leave your pub and not want to return. The next day, the person who has chicken quesadillas got food poisoning. Thank you for...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of trying out The Social Tavern, and I must say, the experience was quite memorable despite a small hiccup with our takeout order. We ordered a variety of dishes to enjoy at home, but unfortunately, upon unpacking our order, we realized our pizza was missing. Given how much we were looking forward to trying their pizza, this was a bit disappointing.
However, what followed truly showcased the excellent customer service at The Social Tavern. When we called to inform them about the missing pizza, the owner personally apologized and promptly arranged for the pizza to be delivered to our home. Not only did they deliver the pizza, but they also included a complimentary appetizer to make up for the inconvenience.
When the pizza arrived, it was clear that the wait was worth it. It was one of the best pizzas I've had in Surrey – perfectly cooked with a delicious crust and generous, fresh toppings. The complimentary appetizer was a delightful bonus and further demonstrated their commitment to customer satisfaction.
The Social Tavern turned what could have been a negative experience into a positive one through their outstanding service and exceptional food quality. We'll definitely be returning and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great meal and top-notch customer...
