Tobiko #1 Sushi — Restaurant in Surrey

We wanted to try a new menu item at Tobiko but when we tasted the food it wasn't good at all and tasted old. We informed the server that the food didn't taste fresh or good and they took our food away. We then ordered tempura instead which was good since we were hungry. When it came time to pay they charged us in full for the 2 new items we tried but did not like after the first bite and the tempura. Tobiko refused to remove the item from the bill or provide a substitute food item since we "ate one bite" of the food we didn't like. We had to pay for food we did not eat along with the tempura. We were fine with paying for the tempura but it was unfair to pay for an item we only had one bite from and spit out. We did order more food since we were hungry and was fine and had to pay for everything regardless of the bad food item.

As well, there were two other tables where one was very nosiey and doing rude things to one another and raising their voices to which Tobiko employees refused to inform the table they they were disturbing other customer with their actions. My table member had to inform the other table to stop being rude and nosiey as others were trying to dine. Overall I would not attend this restuarant for food ever again and wasted my...

edit: PRICEY for what you get. The rolls lack filling and they are extremely small. Incredibly cheaply made compared to competing places.

Tobiko has been around since I was in high school. I thought I'd drop by after work recently and decided to get the black dragon. I asked to substitue salmon instead of tuna, they charged me extra and explained to me that they dont do substitutuon instead I would be charged more for "extra salmon" when it came with salmon already. Okay whatever I didnt mind it however When I got home and opened my box, I didnt get more salmon like i asked, probably a loonie size peice of salmon. I called back right away and expressed my concerns, the girl asked for my name and number and promised me a free black dragon the next time I came. Next time came around, i called in and mentioned that i have a free roll on the tab, i gave her my name and nunber and she had no idea what i was talking about. She asked me for the server's name and the time i purchased and she would fix the problem. I dont believe anything was fixed, all i got was 15% off which is close to nothing. Been eating at Tobiko for the past 10 years and went recently with my wife as we enjoyed their food greatly. However today was a miss. We ordered their Super Dragon roll and hot pot. The hot pot was delicious but the Super Dragon roll was not as expected. When it came, we noticed that there was no avocado in the roll but a cheese slice(?). I asked the waitress if this was normal as their menu didn't mention cheese so she asked the sushi chef and he said it was right. So i think they ran out of avocado and used the cheese slice as the creamy part in the roll. When we finished the roll and my wife noticed the sign above and saw that the cheese should have been the topping and seared with the salmon on top. I guess the chef was new and didn't know how to put the roll together.

Still one of our favourite sushi places to eat and hopefully next time we ordered this roll (or any other rolls) that it comes...
