Visited for the first time over the weekend. Ordered a laksa with yellow noodles and separate orders of curry fish balls. I don't know how authentic it is but the broth was very fragrant and rich, just as I had hoped. The yellow noodles soaked up the broth nicely too. The broth did not leave me thirsty afterwards which spoke volumes to me. Really enjoyed the laksa.
The fish balls also had a relatively firm texture which I liked. Some places have fish balls which are on the softer side but the ones here have a nice bite to them. The star is the curry sauce. Again, I don't know how authentic the sauce is but like the laksa broth, the curry sauce is also very fragrant without being too oily. I can imagine it would go well with rice.
Service was excellent. The people behind the counter were friendly and efficient.
The food court is nothing to shout about. The area was clean and tidy. YL was the only place still serving food at the time of my visit so there weren't many other customers around.
Overall, I was pleasantly surprised. I'll definitely be back and will look to try other things...
Read moreWe visited this restaurant for many years. Food quality is maintained. Usually, my wife will order the A1 combo, which is the Hainanese chicken, and the curry. Recently, they increase the price by 10% , ($19.95 to $21.95). That I can understand. However, at the same time, the portion is reduced. The chicken leg is getting smaller, and the one shown in the picture is so called "large". Also the curry is getting less, as they put a bigger potato in the container. The potato is taking 1/3 of the volume. I do not mind they increase the price, but I do not feel good that the portion is so small that it cannot fill my wife's stomach.
After the previous review, I ordered the takeout twice. I found that the portion was increased to a very acceptable size. I appreciate the management really listens to the customer's voice. Now, I give them 4-stars, and will continue to...
Read moreI've always avoided the food court at T&T. I was hungry after shopping and decided to give it a browse. I saw this place and hemmed and hawed, then decided to give it a try. Wow, am I ever glad I did! I haven't gotten anything other than the beef curry and rice yet, but I plan to if I can ever bring myself to not crave that wonderful curry. This is the most delicious curry I have ever tasted outside my Nani's house. I've made a few special trips out to Surrey just to eat here. I tell everybody I talk to about this place. I am blown away by how delicious and savoury it is. The closest flavour profile I've found to my Nani's home made cooking, although hers is a bit spicier, this curry is quite mild. I really wish the cook well in their business, this tastes way better than just a food court place. I'd give it more than five...
