River View Restaurant — Restaurant in Thompson

We will never come back here though we like Chinese food. The cashier / server was not accommodating and helpful, very poor customer service. I regret giving tip after what I experienced.

I told the cashier that it was our first time here. I thought of ordering something that is good for 2 people so I looked at the menu and saw the combo that says can feed 1-2 persons. She said that it is for take out and if I order it I cannot come back for refill. I asked if we can still eat it in the restaurant even though it is for take out and she said yes, but we cannot ask for refill. I understood and I agreed. When she handed me my order she just gave me forks when I have rice so I asked for spoons and an extra plate. At first she refused to give me spoons and plates because she said that my order is for take out. She must have forgotten that she told me that we can still eat there but no refills. I insisted for spoon and plate because why not? I paid for my food and we are allowed to eat there so why not give us utensils? She eventually gave me what I need with a frown face. So yeah, that's not how you treat your customers. You just lost one potential...

I used to come to Riverview all the time before lockdown, but now it's a rare occasion because of how salty is. The only things that taste the same are the spring rolls and sweet and sour chicken. I just finished eating lunch there, and the service was 0/5. The lady rolled her eyes at me after I asked for a glass of water. I'm surprised this restaurant is still in business, given how disgusting the food has gotten, and with the service, I don't think I'll be coming back again. Definitely not worth the price either, like I get inflation rates, but $27 for food that tastes half-cooked and cold, plus a small cup of tea, definitely isn't...

Just ordered a $100 delivery and it was missing an $15 gingerbeef item. The item was on the receipt but The women on the phone argued with us that it was delivered. To my surprise they charge extra for there sweet and sour souce ! Iv eaten from more Chinese restaurants from Ontario to British Columbia and never seen that charged as an extra. And my curry chicken had no sauce this time completely dry. I wonder if there is more the one cook ? unlike last time the food is not very good very different infact not in a good way. I'll never order from here again. Fustrating since this is the only location...
