Java Hut — Restaurant in Thunder Bay

had the unfortunate experience of dining at a local establishment and was disappointed with the quality of the food and service. I ordered the Salisbury steak, but was disappointed to find that the vegetables were overcooked and had lost their color. The steak itself was burnt, and when I brought this to the attention of the owner, he offered to make another one for me. While the new piece was served quickly, it appeared to be microwaved and was still pink in some spots. The onions on the second plate were much better, but still not up to par. The liver and onions were the highlight of the meal, but I did not receive the advertised vegetables as a side.

While the portions were generous, the lengthy wait time and subpar quality of the food did not justify the $15 price point. Overall, I would not recommend this...

Used to love this place. But the past 3 times ive taken my family here, its been a disgrace. Used to have great tasting food. Now it seems like the cook just deep-fries everything to a crisp. The wife and i ordered the lumberjack. Over easy eggs, sausage, bacon, finn pancakes, and home fries. We got fried eggs, no yolk, burnt bacon, my sausage was deep fried to deformity, yet the inside still seemed raw, the potatoes where just burnt slices of potatoe. I didnt even touch the pancakes. I told the kid working that our meals where horrible. He looked at our plates, apologized and gave a refund. The 2 times before this we had pretty much identical results with our food. Its a shame because we have been going here for 15 years. Now, we will never go...

I stayed the last two nights and the first night had the burger and last night had the meatloaf special. Staff was exceptionally friendly, one girl seemed to be off work last night chatting with some regulars and just seemed to be very customer service oriented. The girl working the cash was very friendly and kept asking if my food was good. The gentleman who I think was the owner walked around and made sure everyone was satisfied and this place seems to really get the customer service end of the business.
