1688 dim sum — Restaurant in Toronto

It’s a frozen dim sum place. They’re selling in bulk, usually in 20-30 pieces, some are in 50 pieces. (See image)

Tastes pretty good. Decent sized. Individually frozen, well 95% of it, a few sticks together, doesn’t affect taste.

4 pieces of Har Gao King (Shrimp dumplings), 2 pieces of Teochew style dumplings (peanut pieces in fillings), 4 Special Siomai, 2 Beef meatballs, 1 sticky rice wrapped in lotus leaf… For just $10.60

The best thing is you can control the portion size, you don’t have to have a full order when you only want half of it, so you don’t have leftovers. (Unlike some other frozen dim sum places that would have their dim sum all...

These are hands down some of the best dumplings for the quality and price. We bought a bag of shumai and a bag of hargow. We saw the lady making them in store. Her husband provided great customer service, and checkout was quick. We were in and out of the store in under 2 minutes. When we tried them today, we felt they were restaurant quality! Delicious! 😋 This is going to be our one-stop shop for dumplings...

I went there yesterday. The staff was very friendly and answered my questions in professional manner.

And the price was reasonable. I bought siu mai, special siu mai & har gao. I just tried the har gao, it’s taste good. it’s the same taste as chinese restaurant.
