Simple northern Chinese dishes for a fair price, in a small but homey miniature foodcourt. Had the mushroom onion pork stirfry over rice (1) and soya sauce green onion deep fried tofu (2) shared with a good friend 🍛. Pretty tasty and filling for both of us, combined. Lady taking orders was energetic, friendly, and laidback compared to other nearby establishments (Generally, service manners are not a top priority in traditional Chinese, small family-run stores). Accommodated for my buddy's request regarding containers, forgot to return one out of humble mistake. Courteous enough response. Atmosphere can be a bit noisy, and the conversations sometimes obnoxious, but that generally doesn't say much about this eatery or its staff. Plenty of chairs and tables, though a bit dirty. There's a washroom downstairs, but it's gross with mold, has no soap, and its dryer doesn't work. These are side matters, though. ❓ VERDICT? -- Good ✔ ♻️ COME AGAIN? -- Yes ✔ Do come prepared if either (1) certain behaviours or (2) facilities' hygiene bother you. Otherwise, good food for a quick lunch served by friendly staff if you're searching for some place obscure to eat out. ~ ZRA

The food is fine. The salt and chilli pork chop was a nice cut of meat, though not the best seasoning. The disappointing part was that I ordered a set meal witch comes with green pepper beef. I was asked if I wanted pork or beef with that, but was not told that beef would require an extra $4. We didn’t realize until we went to pick the meal up and was told beef was expensive and needed to pay more than the advertised price. I have no issue with them charging a reasonable amount to make a living, but they need to either change the menu item to pork or increase the meal cost on the menu. Unexpected added costs are never appreciated.

Such great quality food and friendly service! Absolutely amazing flavours and quick Chinese take out with the best price in town. My family can’t order from anywhere else after trying this place! Everything we’ve ordered from the menu has been excellent, and especially the soups that come with the meals, those are a personal favourite so I always order extra! We adore the staff, and their willingness to accommodate our needs at all times. The tables in the food court are open and ready for use, but it seems like take out is the most popular option here. We will absolutely continue to return, thank you for being amazing!

Went there for lunch to order soup noodle with pork chop. The wait time was 30 mins. When I asked her about it, the lady was rude and said I was slowing her down. Food was mediocre.

Update to owner's response: a good restaurant will always value their customers feedback and apologize. This is not the case as owner is defensive.

owner said they're behind after I paid. I only followed up twice. First time at 20 mins, they said the food is coming. Second follow up at 30 mins. I asked why soup noodles take 30 mins and if it's not coming that I'll like a refund. They said the pork chop was just fried up. (I'm pretty sure that's a lie because the pork chop would've been piping hot when I ate it. It was room temperature). They are stating that they have video evidence that I was in the wrong. Horrible customer service.

If there is anything other than an apology after my update, it further proves my point that this owner has no idea how to treat...

I recently visited Rainbow Food and ordered the General Tao Chicken, which turned out to be the worst I’ve ever had. The chicken was overcooked, the sauce was bland, and the overall dish was simply inedible. Initially, the restaurant offered a refund, which I appreciated. However, they later started apologizing after 30mins waiting, explaining that the cook was sick, which is why my food came out so poorly. While I understand that everyone has off days, this explanation felt like an excuse rather than a genuine apology. I didn’t voice my concerns further at the time because there was a child present in the store, but this experience was unacceptable. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and ensures better quality control...
